Wycombe Wanderers 2-1 Doncaster Rovers
On Saturday 22nd April 2017 League Two leaders Doncaster Rovers paid a visit to Adams Park in High Wycombe for a League Two match against Wycombe Wanderers.
Wycombe took command of the match from the beginning. In just the ninth minute Luke O’Nien put the Chairboys ahead with a headed goal from close range.
However the league leaders fought back with a equalising goal in the eighteenth minute when Alfie May placed a shot into the bottom left corner of the Wycombe Goal.
Both sides had further chances but it was Wycombe who capitalised on their opportunities with a second goal in the thirty second minute of the match. Again it was Luke O’Nien who scored for the home side with a left footed shot that found the bottom right corner of the Doncaster goal.
Doncaster tried hard to bring the scores level but despite having many opportunities to do so they failed to find another goal and Wycombe held on to claim the win and more importantly the points.
Wycombe managed 51% possession during today’s game but could only manage to get two of their seven shots on goal on target. Doncaster made fourteen shots on the Wycombe goal of which four were on target. The match saw thirty fouls, sixteen by Wycombe and fourteen by Doncaster.
After today’s game Wycombe climb to ninth position in League Two with sixty five points from forty four games.
