| July 26, 2017

Buckinghamshire County Council has won a national innovation award for their digital waste permit scheme.

On Thursday 6th July 2017 Buckinghamshire County Council won the ‘Best Use of E-Forms‘ award at the Public Sector Paperless awards for their new digital waste permit scheme.

Over 250 guests attended the National Paperless Awards which were held at the Royal Garden Hotel in Kensington, London.

The judges were impressed with the journey to a fully digital solution that allowed residents to receive their permits instantly rather than waiting almost a week, removing the need for 18,000 paper letters to be sent a year.

The new digital waste permits are the first waste permits in the country to use scanable QR code.

Bill Chapple OBE, Cabinet Member for Planning and Environment said, ‘We are proud to lead the way with these innovative e-forms, benefiting both residents and the environment. It’s also great that staff have their achievements recognised nationally under challenging budget constraints.
