Two people threatened with knife during robbery on The Rye, High Wycombe

Two people sitting on a bench on They Rye, High Wycombe were threatened with knife during a robbery on The Rye, High Wycombe.

On Sunday 6th August 2017, between 7.00pm and 7.20pm, a 30 year old man and a 23 year old woman were sitting on a bench on The Rye near Keep Hill Drive. Two men walked past before turning and walking back towards them before approaching them from behind.

A knife was produced by the first man who pointed it towards the victims while the second man demanded the victims hand over their possessions.

The man without the knife grabbed the woman’s handbag and the man handed over his wallet before the offenders ran away.

A mini black leather wallet was stolen containing bank and store cards and a national insurance card as well as a white Guess handbag containing a pink iPhone 6s plus and a bottle of perfume.

No one was injured during the incident.

Both the robbers are described as white, aged between 18 and 24 years old, approximately 5ft 9ins to 5ft 10ins and have black hair and dark eyes.

The first man was wearing a dark coloured sweatshirt with a hood and dark coloured jogging trousers and was carrying a JD Sports bag.

The second man was wearing a dark sweatshirt with no hood and dark coloured jogging trousers and was wearing dirty white trainers.

Investigating officer Police Constable Nico Aquino, based at High Wycombe police station, said: ‘I would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the offence or who has any information which could assist the investigation.

I would also like to speak to anyone who has been offered the property described as they may be able to help by providing information.

Thames Valley Police are appealing from anyone who may have any information relating to the incident to please call 101 quoting reference ‘43170232901’ or to contact Crimestoppers anonymously.
