Men jailed for two years for robbery in London Road, High Wycombe
Two men have been jailed for two years for robbery in London Road, High Wycombe during which a man was threatened with a bottle.
On Friday 18th August 2017, at Aylesbury Crown Court an 18 year old man of West Wycombe Road, High Wycombe and a 19 year old man also of West Wycombe Road, High Wycombe each pleaded guilty to one count of robbery.
Both men were sentenced at the same hearing to two years detention in a Young Offenders Institution. They were were both charged on Friday 9th June 2017.
The sentence relates to an incident that occurred in the early hours of Friday 9th June 2017. A 20 year old man was walking along London Road, High Wycombe when he was approached from behind by two men.
The two men pushed the victim to the ground and one of them threatened the victim with a glass bottle unless he handed over his wallet and phone. The victim was punched several times before both offenders left with his wallet.
The victim suffered cuts to his leg and soreness and marks on the back of his head.
Designated investigator Rachael Rance of Thames Valley Police said: ‘This was a nasty unprovoked attack on a man walking home. Both offenders were aggressive and violent and this sentence shows the severity of the offence.
We will not tolerate this type of behaviour in the Thames Valley and will deal with it robustly when reported to us.‘
