Day ticket car parking at most Chiltern Railways stations to increase by up to £1 from Mon 2 Oct 2017

| September 26, 2017

Day ticket car parking at most Chiltern Railways stations will increase by up to £1 from Monday 2nd October 2017.

The increase follows a two year freeze on car parking prices. However car park season tickets will not increase at this time and current car park season tickets will remain valid.

Chiltern Railways have also invested in technology to make car park payment more convenient. Customers now no longer need to return to their cars after paying for parking when purchasing tickets at the self-service machines.

As a result the payment machines in the car park will no longer be in service and payments can be made using a number of ways including by mobile phone with RingGo, through the self-service machines at the station or from the station booking office.

ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) technology has also been introduced at Warwick Parkway and Beaconsfield stations. The ANPR technology will be rolled out to other stations.

Those who wish to purchase car parking tickets at the booking office are still required to display the parking ticket in their car. Chiltern Railways are advising passengers to purchase a car park ticket in advance of the day of travel so you can display it in your car on arrival at the station.

Car park spaces have increase by 2,278 spaces on stations along the Chiltern route thanks to an investment of over £16 million over the past five years. Projects include the construction of new multi-storey car parks at Solihull, Warwick Parkway and Banbury and new car parks at Leamington Spa, Oxford Parkway and Bicester Village stations.
