A donation of £2,500 has been made to the Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust towards research into the effects and treatment of Glaucoma.

The cheque was presented on Tuesday 5th September 2017 to Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon Miss Asifa Shaikh by John and Doreen Hubble from money raised during John’s year as Master of De Bohun Lodge of Freemasons, which meets at the Masonic Centre on Ripon Street in Aylesbury.

Doreen has suffered with Glaucoma for a long time and was full of praise for Miss Shaikh and her team. She said: ‘Asifa has been wonderful in helping me with my condition and I’m really pleased that John and the other members of De Bohun Lodge were able to make this donation to help others in a similar situation.

Miss Shaikh also said: ‘On behalf of the Trust, I am so pleased to receive this donation to help with our continued and ongoing efforts to provide the best glaucoma care and treatment for our patients.

John added: ‘This donation is just one of the many and varied ways in which Bucks Freemasons’ core values of Friendship, Integrity and Charity are used to benefit all members of our community.
