Cash stolen during armed robbery in Chesham

An armed robbery took place outside the Nationwide Building Society in Chesham on Wednesday 3rd January 2018.

At 10.22pm, outside the Nationwide Building Society in The Broadway, Chesham, a masked offender armed with what appeared to have been a handgun approached the victim, a security officer and forced him to hand over a cash box.

An amount of cash was stolen by the offender who fled the scene in a vehicle with another man.

The offender is described as a white man, around 5ft 8ins and of a large build. He was wearing an orange Puffa-style jacket at the time of the incident.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Richard Bazeley of Aylesbury Force CID, said: ‘While this was obviously a very distressing incident for the victim, it was fortunate that he was not injured during this incident.

We would urge anyone who saw the offender or anyone acting suspiciously around the Nationwide last night to call us as a matter of urgency via our enquiry centre number 101. Anyone with any concerns about the incident can speak to local officers on the same number.
