Bristol Rovers were the guests at Adams Park on Saturday 18th August 2018 for a League One match with Wycombe Wanderers.
The visitors made their mark on the match with a goal in just the fourth minute of the game. Following a corner, James Clarke shot from the left side of the six yard box with the ball finding the bottom left corner of the Wycombe goal.
Bristol took a two goal lead sixteen minutes later thanks to a header from Tony Craig from the left side of the six yard box, the ball ending in the bottom left corner of the Chairboys net.
Bristol kept pressing forcing the Wycombe keeper to make numerous saves throughout the rest of the first half while Wycombe hardly troubled their opponents goal.
The second half saw Bristol keep testing the Wycombe keeper, however Adebayo Akinfenwa made several attempts to get Wycombe back in the match most notably in the fifty fifth and fifty ninth minutes of the game, alas the attempts either missed or were saved.
It wasn’t until the eighty second minute that Wycombe scored their first goal of the game. Scott Kashket shot from the centre of the box with the ball ending up in the bottom right corner of the Bristol net.
Scott Kashket came close to levelling the scores in the ninety first minute when his left footed shot from the centre of the box was saved as it made its way to the bottom left corner of the Bristol net.
The match finished Wycombe Wanderers 1, Bristol Rovers 2. So far this season Wycombe have failed to win a League match.
Wycombe are now twenty third in League One, one place from the bottom of the table and in the relegation zone. Following today’s game they have just one point from three League One games.
