On Saturday 25th August Wycombe Wanderers visited Bradford City for a League Two match.
Wycombe started the game in a determined mood, making four attempts on the Bradford goal in the first fourteen minutes of the match.
In the twenty eighth minute Wycombe took the lead when, following a corner, Joe Jacobson crossed and Craig Mackail-Smith shot from very close range with the ball finding the bottom left corner of the Bradford goal.
Wycombe came close to extending their lead several times during the rest of the first half. Their best effort was in the first minute of extra time at the end of the first half when Craig Mackail-Smith shot from outside the box, the shot was close but missed in the direction of the top left corner of the Bradford goal.
At half time Wycombe went in with a one goal lead and in a commanding position.
When the second half started the Chairboys carried on as they left off. In the fifty second minute the inevitable happened and Wycombe scored a second goal when Bryn Morris shot from the centre of the box placing the ball in the bottom right corner of the net.
Going two goals down seemed to give Bradford impetus to score. They started to make attempts on the Wycombe goal but their efforts came to nought until the first minute of extra time at the end of the second half. In the ninety first minute of the match Luca Colville shot from the centre of the box with the ball finding the bottom left corner of the Wycombe net.
This was the first win for Wycombe in a League One match this season and they won in convincing style taking away three much needed points.
After today’s match Wycombe are now in 17 position in League One with five points from five games.
