On Saturday 1st September 2018 Luton Town visited Adams Park for a League One match against Wycombe Wanderers.
Wycombe made a positive start to the game with three attempts on the Luton goal in the first thirteen minutes of the match, however the ball was either blocked or missed the goal.
In the fifteenth minute Matt Bloomfield was fouled by Sonny Bradley in the Luton penalty area. Joe Jacobson stepped forward to convert the penalty with the ball finding the bottom left corner of the Luton net in the seventeenth minute.
Wycombe went in at half time a goal up. When play resumed in the second half Wycombe kept pressing, looking for a second goal.
Craig Mackail-Smith came close to scoring in the forty ninth minute but his header from the centre of the box was saved as it made its way towards the bottom right corner of the Luton goal.
The Chairboys were handed a chance to take the lead when, following a corner in the fifty eighth minute, Glen Rea handled the ball in the Luton penalty area. Once again Joe Jacobson took the penalty kick but the shot was saved.
Not to be deterred Wycombe kept up the assault on the Luton goal. Adebayo Akinfenwa hit the bar with a header in the sixty second minute and Craig Mackail-Smith took a shot from outside the box in the sixty fifth minute but the shot was saved.
In the sixty eighth minute Luton equalised with a close range header by Matty Pearson which found the centre of the Wycombe goal.
Both sides had further chances during the remainder of the game but failed to score, the match ended in a draw and the points were shared.
Following today’s game Wycombe find themselves in sixteenth place in League Two with six points from six games.
