A live music experience for babies and toddlers is coming to High Wycombe with the launch of a new interactive drop-in class.
To celebrate the arrival of Musical Mayhem in High Wycombe a live music launch party will take place at Cressex Community Centre on Wednesday, 12th September 2018 at 10.00am.
The classes will teach young children traditional and original children’s songs, with puppets, props and live musical accompaniment on guitar, melodeon, piano and ukulele.
The award-winning company is run by two Princes Risborough mums, Monica Nelson and Emma Voss, who have been running the business together since 2012. It began with just one class a week in Princes Risborough and has steadily expanded with regular classes now running in Great Missenden, Haddenham, Thame and Chinnor. The team is in high demand to perform at birthday parties, nurseries, pre-schools and festivals.
Mrs Nelson, a musician, journalist and mum-of-three, said: ‘We can’t wait to open our new Cressex class and start singing and dancing with the tots of High Wycombe.
Musical Mayhem is a very lively multi-sensory experience designed to stimulate communication and inspire a love of music. We aim to make the sessions relaxed and entertaining for the grown-ups as well as the children.‘
Mrs Voss, a former nurse and mum-of-two, added: ‘There are so many benefits to attending a good quality interactive music class. As well as keeping babies and young children active and entertained, it can help boost early brain development and speech.
Singing together is good for everyone’s health and studies show it can help ease the symptoms of postnatal depression.‘
Tickets are £5 per family which includes 45 minutes of music followed by free tea and coffee for the grown-ups and juice and a snack for the children. There is no need to book – just turn up!
Musical Mayhem was named best toddler group and best children’s activity or club in Oxfordshire in the Little Ankle Biters Awards 2018.
