Wycombe Wanderers travelled to Portsmouth for a League One match on Saturday 22nd September 2018.
Bryn Morris gave Wycombe the lead in the twenty first minute with a shot from outside the box which found the bottom right corner of the Portsmouth goal.
Towards the end of the first half Portsmouth made several attempts on the Wycombe goal however their efforts were either blocked or saved. At half time Wycombe were in the lead by a solitary goal.
It wasn’t until the fifty seventh minute that the first attempt on goal of the second half was made. Gareth Evans headed home from very close range to level the scores and bring Portsmouth back into the game.
Both sides kept searching for a second, potentially match winning, goal. It was Portsmouth who took the lead when, in the eighty sixth minute, Brett Pitman headed home with the ball finding the top left corner of the Wycombe goal.
The match looked as if it was heading for a win for Portsmouth but in the eighty ninth minute Fred Onyedinma was fouled by Christian Burgess in the Portsmouth penalty area handing a penalty to Wycombe.
Joe Jacobson duly converted the penalty levelling the scores and giving Wycombe hope of some points from the game.
The game ended as a two-all draw and the points were shared. Wycombe are now in eighteenth position in League One with eight points from nine games.
