Wycombe Wanderers 3-2 Scunthorpe United

Scunthorpe United visited Adams Park for a League One match with Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday 20th October 2018.

The visitors took the lead in the very first minute of the match when a shot from Ryan Colclough found the bottom right corner of the Wycombe goal.

Scunthorpe took a two goal lead six minutes later through George Thomas whose shot on goal saw the ball find the bottom left corner of the Chairboys net.

Both sides kept pressing in the search for another goal however it was Wycombe who scored next. In the twenty seventh minute of the game Dominic Gape shot from outside the box placing the ball into the top right corner of the Scunthorpe goal.

At half time Scunthorpe went in with a two goals to one lead.

Wycombe came out for the second half with an apparent determination to make a comeback in the game. It was in the fifty third minute they drew level thanks to a goal from Fred Onyedinma whose shot from the left side of the box found the top right corner of the Scunthorpe goal.

It looked as if the game was heading towards a draw however, in the ninety fourth minute, Craig Mackail-Smith secured a win for Wycombe with a right footed shot from the centre of the box into the bottom left corner of the Scunthorpe goal.

The match saw twelve added minutes of injury time at the end of the second half but Scunthorpe were unable to level the scores. Wycombe are now in seventeenth place in League One with fifteen points from fourteen games.
