Chiltern Railways announce service timetable changes during Christmas 2018

Chiltern Railways have announce a special festive timetable to take effect from Sunday 23rd December 2018 to Tuesday 1st January 2019.

A summary of the festive timetable is as follows :

Sunday 23rd December 2018 : An amended Sunday timetable will operate, with additional capacity provided on Marylebone/Oxford service. This is because of engineering work on the London Paddington to Oxford route.
Monday 24th December 2018 : An amended Monday/Friday timetable will operate, with an earlier than usual finish.
Tuesday 25th December 2018 : No services will run on Christmas Day.
Wednesday 26th December 2018 : Services will running between Oxford Parkway and London Marylebone. A special service of two trains per hour in each direction will operate over the following route, between approximately 8.00am and 8.00pm : Marylebone – Gerrards Cross – Beaconsfield – High Wycombe – Princes Risborough – Haddenham & Thame Parkway – Bicester Village – Oxford Parkway. No trains will call at Wembley Stadium on this date.
Thursday 27th December 2018 : An amended Saturday timetable will operate.
Friday 28th December 2018 : An amended Saturday timetable will operate.
Saturday 29th December 2018 : There is a sporting event at Wembley Stadium featuring Tottenham Hotspur vs Wolverhampton Wanderers (KO 3.00pm). An amended timetable will operate for most of the day.
Sunday 30th December 2018 : An amended Sunday timetable will operate, with additional capacity provided on Marylebone/Oxford service. This is because of engineering work taking place on the London Paddington to Oxford route.
Monday 31st December 2018 : An amended Saturday timetable will operate, with additional after-midnight services from London.
Tuesday 1st January 2019 : On New Year’s Day, an amended Sunday timetable will operate.
Wednesday 2nd January 2019 : The normal December to May 2019 timetable resumes.

During the early hours of New Year’s Day Chiltern Railways will also be running additional after midnight services from London Marylebone. The additional services on Tuesday 1st January 2019 are as follows:

12.30am London Marylebone to Banbury
1.00am London Marylebone to High Wycombe
1.30am London Marylebone to Oxford
1.40am London Marylebone to Aylesbury (via Amersham)
2.00am London Marylebone to Aylesbury (via Princes Risborough)
2.30am London Marylebone to Banbury
2.40am London Marylebone to Aylesbury (via Amersham)
3.00am London Marylebone to Aylesbury (via Princes Risborough)

During the festive period there will be no ticket restrictions which means that Off Peak and Super Off Peak will be valid all day. However for anyone who has purchased an advance ticket, restrictions will remain in place for the ticket you have purchased.
