Man required hospital treatment following stabbing incident in Chesham

A man required hospital treatment following a stabbing incident in Chesham on Friday 1st February 2019.

At around 4.10pm, a 43 year old man was attacked in Patterson Road, Chesham. The man suffered a puncture wound in his back and was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford for treatment, he has since been discharged.

After the assault, the assailant ran off in the direction of Upper Belmont Road.

Investigating officer Detective Andy Melton, of Force CID based at Aylesbury, said: ‘This incident occurred in the middle of the afternoon and is believed to be a targeted assault.

I am appealing to anyone who was in the vicinity of Patterson Road between 4pm and 4.30pm on Friday and believes that they witnessed the assault to contact the 24-hour non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 43190034128.

I would like to re-assure the public that we believe this to be an isolated incident.

Police has arrested 20 year old man from Chesham on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm in connection with the incident.
