| April 29, 2019

A respected local councillor, magistrate and ambassador for change has joined the board of local charity Action4Youth.

The appointment David Carroll to the board of trustees of Action4Youth will bring a wealth of knowledge, enthusiasm and a track record of commitment to the youth sector. David has vast experience gained during his time as the Deputy Police & Crime Commissioner for Thames Valley Police and his current role as the Youth Cabinet Member & Crime at High Wycombe District Council.

David also currently sits on the Prevent Board, which focuses on safeguarding children from radicalisation and plays a key role within the local community.

David was keen to join the region’s leading youth charity in order to support the improvement of young people’s lives through the benefit of his own experience, he explains: ‘I have a strong interest in people and a deep appreciation of the struggles that many people face throughout their lives. I feel that I can relate to people at all levels, and as someone that came from a deprived background, I have had to overcome many obstacles in order to achieve success.

I am looking forward to this new challenge and to showing the young people at Action4Youth that it doesn’t matter who you are, where you come from or what your ability; with confidence, self-esteem, determination and team spirit, you can succeed.

Jenifer Cameron, CEO of Action4Youth explains: ‘We are thrilled to welcome David onto our board, he is a fantastic addition to our passionate team and we look forward to working with him to add even more strength and gravitas to the support we provide to our young people.
