Wycombe Wanderers 1-0 Fleetwood Town
Fleetwood Town were welcomed to Adams Park on Saturday 4th May 2019 for a League One match with Wycombe Wanderers.
Wycombe already knew they would be playing in League One again next season. However after some recent disappointing score lines the Chairboys were keen to impress in their final game of the League One season.
Scott Kashket made Wycombe’s first attempt on goal in just the second minute of the match, the shot was however blocked.
Throughout the first half Wycombe made numerous attempts to score but alas, their efforts came to nought. At half time neither side had managed to score.
At the start of the second half Wycombe were again the more dominant team, it wasn’t until the seventy first minute that Fleetwood made their first real attempt on the Wycombe goal when Lewie Coyle shot from outside the box, the shot was close but missed to the left.
It was Joe Jacobson who gave Wycombe the lead when, in the seventy fifth minute, he scored directly from a corner kick.
Fleetwood tried to level the scores but were unable to do so.
Wycombe secured victory and finished the season in seventeenth position in League One with fifty three points from forty six games.
