Bus stop closures and diversions for the week ahead – Monday 12th August 2019

Week commencing Monday 12th August 2019 the following Bus Stop closures and diversions are expected to affect bus services in Buckinghamshire.

Bus Diversions

Whielden Lane/Penn Street, Winchmore Hill : Monday 5th to Wednesday 14th August 2019. Due to works by UK Power Networks the 73 bus will need to divert on these days. The buses will travel along the A404 and then left into Penn Street, after serving the stops at the Squirrel Public House, the buses will turn back round. As such the stops on Penn Street (after the Squirrel) and the stops on Whielden Lane will not be served.

Penn Road/Forty Green Road, Knotty Green : Friday 9th to Tuesday 13th August 2019, 9.30am to 3.30pm. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire micro surfacing works these roads will be closed during this day (not at the same time – they will start at Penn Road and then move onto Forty Green Road) as such neither the stop Opposite the Red Lion on Penn Road or the ‘Village Hall’ stop will be served between these times.

Rectory Road, Taplow : Monday 12 to Friday 30th August 2019. Please note this road will be closed for Transport for Buckinghamshire drainage works during these dates and the ‘Village Green’ stops will not be served. Route 63/68 passengers are advised the nearest served stops will be the ‘Desborough Cottages’ stops on Hill Farm Road, or the ‘Rectory Road’ stop on Boundary Road (not served by the 1015 route 68 service).

Magpie Lane, Coleshill : Monday 12th to Wednesday 14th August 2019. Due to Affinity Water works this road will be closed on these days. Bus routes 71 and 73 will need to divert via Tower Road and will not serve the stops on Village Road or Magpie Lane on these days.

Castle Street/Station Road : Marsh Gibbon, Monday 12th to Friday 16th August 2019. Due to Thames Water works, Castle Street will be closed on these days. As such route 16 will need to divert via Millfield Avenue and will not serve the ‘Post Office’ stops on Station Road. Route 16 passengers are advised to wait on Millfield Avenue and hail clearly for the buses to stop. Route 18 buses will continue to serve the ‘Post Office’ stops as normal.

Aylesbury Road, Monks Risborough : Monday 12th to Friday 23rd August 2019 (excluding weekends), 7.00pm to 6.00am. Due to resurfacing works by Transport for Buckinghamshire this road will be closed between Queen’s Road and Letterbox Lane on these nights. Route 300 Buses towards Aylesbury will divert via Longwick Road, Wellington Avenue, Crowbrook Avenue and will rejoin the A4010 at the ‘Coco Tamarind’/Cadsden Road junction. As such stops between Cadsden Road and Longwick Road will not be served on these nights.

Wycombe Road, Prestwood : Tuesday 13th and Wednesday 14th August 2019, 9.30am to 3.30pm. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire the Arriva 41 buses will need to divert via Little Kingshill. After serving Great Missenden buses will continue to Prestwood turning back round at Lodge Lane and Nairdwood Drive. As such stops between ‘The Common’ in Great Kingshill and ‘Hildreth Road’ in Prestwood will not be served during these times.

Bus Stop Suspensions

A41, Aston Clinton Road, Aylesbury : Wednesday 17th July until Thursday 31 October 2019. Due to development and road layout works the two ‘Holiday Inn’ stops will be suspended for this period. The nearest served alternatives are the ‘Peugeot Garage’ or the ‘Bedgrove Lights’ stops.

Rose Avenue, Hazlemere : Thursday 25th July to Friday 16th August 2019. Due to Thames Water works the ‘Sir William Ramsay School’ stop towards High Wycombe will be suspended on these dates. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Rose Avenue’ stop near to the junction with Penn Road instead.

London Road, Aston Clinton : Monday 29th July to Sunday 25th August 2019. Due to Laxron Properties works both ‘Combined School’ stops will be suspended between these dates. Passengers are to use the ‘Bell’ stops instead.

Heath End Road, Flackwell Heath : Thursday 8th to Wednesday 14th August 2019. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works both ‘Rugwood Road’ stops will be suspended on these days. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Bucks College Group’ or ‘The Stag PH’ stops either side on Heath End Road instead.

Gerrards Cross Road, Stoke Poges : Friday 9th to Friday 30th August 2019. Due to Cadent Gas works both the ‘Pennylets Green’ stops will be suspended during this period. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Sefton Park’ stops instead.

Beaconsfield Road, Farnham Royal : Saturday 10th to Friday 16th August 2019. Due to works on behalf of O2 both the ‘Fairfield Lane’ stops will be suspended on these days. Passengers are advised to use either the ‘Farnham Park Lane’ or the ‘Farnham Pump’ stops instead.

Leighton Road, Stoke Hammond : Monday 12th to Wednesday 14th August 2019. Due to UKPN works the stop opposite ‘The Dolphin’ PH will be suspended on these dates. Passengers are advised to wait back along Leighton Road opposite the stop at the ‘Green’ and hail clearly for the buses to stop.

Longbottom Lane, Seer Green : Monday 12th to Friday 16th August 2019. Due to works on behalf of Cadent Gas the ‘Railway Station’ stop towards Beaconsfield will be suspended on these days. Passengers are advised to wait where safe outside the traffic management and hail clearly for the bus to stop.

Vale Road, Chesham : Monday 12th to Friday 23rd August 2019. Due to works on behalf of BT Openreach the ‘Vale Road’ stops near the Greenway junction will be suspended on these dates. The nearest alternatives are the ‘Nash Arms PH’ stops on Berkhampstead Road.

Cores End Road, Bourne End : Tuesday 13th to Thursday 15th August 2019. Due to works on behalf of BT Opereach both ‘Cores End’ stops will be suspended on these days. Passengers are advised to use the ‘New Road’ stops on Cores End Road or the stops on Brookbank instead.

West Wycombe Road, High Wycombe : Wednesday 14th to Friday 16th August 2019, 9.00am to 3.00pm. Due to Thames Water works both ‘Railway Bridge’ stops will be suspended at these times. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Park Farm Road’ stops instead.

Oxford Road, Stokenchurch : Wednesday 14th to Wednesday 21st August 2019. Due to Thames Water works both ‘Medical Centre’ stops will be suspended on these days. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Kings Arms PH’ stops instead.

A4 Bath Road, Taplow : Thursday 15th to Friday 30th August 2019. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works the ‘Dumb Bell PH’ stop for journeys from Maidenhead will be suspended. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Ellington Road’ stop further back along Bath Road.
