Desborough Carnival in High Wycombe – Sunday 11th August 2019

A special carnival will take place in Desborough Road, High Wycombe on Sunday 11th August 2019.

From 11.00am to 5.00pm Desborough Road will take on a carnival atmosphere as music, dancing and general merriment is brought to the area in the form of the Desborough Carnival.

As part of the free street party event there will be music, food, arts and crafts, prize competitions and starting at 3.00pm a street parade.

The festivities will start at 11.00am at the Wycombe Arts Centre in Desborough Road. The Desborough Carnival is organised by the HWBIDCo.

The timetable of events is as follows :

Workshops at Wycombe Arts Centre

11.00am – 3.00pm : Carnival mask workshop
11.00am – 4.00pm : Colouring contest

Music at Wycombe Arts Centre Stage

11.00am : Drumojos Samba Drum Workshop
12.00pm : Kwaks
12.50pm : Morell
1.30pm : Jazz Workshops
2.10pm : Myles Green
2.50pm : Bad Ape & Alien Nation
3.30pm : Boo
4.10pm : Vitax African Drummers

There will also be :

Vibes steel band performances at 12.00pm, 1.30pm and 3.00pm.
Family circus shows at 12.30pm, 1.30pm and 4.00pm.
The main parade starts at 3.00pm, it is advisable to arrive at 2.30pm.

On the day there will be road closures in place and restricted access for vehicles to West End Street, Short Street and Westbourne Street from 7.00am until 11.00pm. Desborough Road will be closed to general traffic with no access.
