Closure order issued on a car park in High Wycombe

| August 22, 2019

A closure order has been issued on a car park in High Wycombe.

Following a number of reports of criminal and anti-social behaviour, officers from Thames Valley Police applied for the closure order against the car park in Priory Road, High Wycombe.

On Friday 16th August 2019, High Wycombe Magistrates Court granted the partial closure order which will last for three months.

The partial closure order prohibits anyone other than the residents and businesses listed on the order from entering the car park. Anyone who is not listed on the closure order will commit a criminal offence.

Sergeant Daniel Crook, based at High Wycombe police station, said: ‘It is rare for a closure order to be granted on a commercial premises but this was a last resort to prevent the car park from being used by individuals causing anti-social behaviour, taking drugs and causing large amounts of waste. This behaviour was understandably having a large impact on the local community.

I would like to thank our partner agencies for their assistance in obtaining this partial closure order which means we can stop those who wish to abuse this facility from entering.

I am happy that we have been able to put this closure order in place and hope it demonstrates to the community that this kind of behaviour will not be tolerated and that we will work to ensure their homes remain a safe and pleasant environment.
