Bus stop closures and diversions for the week ahead – Monday 26th August 2019

Week commencing Monday 26th August 2019 the following Bus Stop closures and diversions are expected to affect bus services in Buckinghamshire.

Bank Holiday Monday 26th August 2019

Most bus companies will run their Sunday timetables on Bank Holiday Monday 26th August 2019. Bus services which do not have a Sunday timetable will not operate. Passengers are advised to check Traveline or with the bus company prior to travelling.

Permanent Stop Closure

Oxford Road, Aylesbury : Please note that from Monday 26th August 2019 the TA Centre stop towards the town centre will be permanently suspended and eventually removed. This is due to safety concerns. Passengers can use either the ‘College’ stop further back along Oxford Road or the stop on Friarage Road instead.

Bus Diversions

Rectory Road, Taplow : Monday 12th to Friday 30th August 2019. This road will be closed for Transport for Buckinghamshire drainage works during these dates and the ‘Village Green’ stops will not be served. Route 63/68 passengers are advised the nearest served stops will be the ‘Desborough Cottages’ stops on Hill Farm Road, or the ‘Rectory Road’ stop on Boundary Road (not served by the 1015 route 68 service).

Aylesbury Road, Monks Risborough : Monday 12th to Thursday 29th August 2019 (excluding weekends), 7.00pm to 6.00am. Due to resurfacing works by Transport for Buckinghamshire this road will be closed between Queen’s Road and Letterbox Lane on these nights. Route 300 Buses towards Aylesbury will divert via Longwick Road, Wellington Avenue, Crowbrook Avenue and will rejoin the A4010 at the ‘Coco Tamarind’/Cadsden Road junction. As such stops between Cadsden Road and Longwick Road will not be served on these nights.

Hicks Farm Rise, High Wycombe : Friday 30th August 2019, 7.00pm to 6.00am. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works, the last 39 journey will need to divert and will not be able to serve the stops on Hicks Farm Rise between St Hugh’s Avenue and Hatter’s Lane, the stops on Hollis Road or the ‘Holywell Gardens’ stop on Hatter’s Lane.

A404, Handy Cross Roundabout, High Wycombe : Friday 30th August to Sunday 1 September 2019, 9pm to 6am. Due to works on this roundabout the following services will need to divert on these nights. Service 800 buses after 9pm will leave High Wycombe via Cressex Road, Clay Lane and Marlow Road entering Marlow at Dean Street where it will resume usual route (and vice versa). As such stops between The Coachway in High Wycombe and Dean Street, will not be served including stops in Marlow at Wycombe Road, Wiltshire Road, Little Marlow Road and Chapel Street. The 210 and 592 National Express Coaches will not serve the Coachway between these hours.

Langley Park Road, Iver : Friday 30th August to Sunday 1st September 2019, 9.30am to 3.30pm. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire microsurfacing works these roads will be closed between these times and First’s route 3 will need to divert via Thorney Lane North and Richings Way. As such it will not serve Station Road (Langley) Langley Park Road or Iver High Street between Langley Park Road and Bangors Road South. The 583 buses will not serve the ‘Junior School’ stops on the High Street or the stop on Widecroft Road. The nearest served stops to Iver High Street are the ‘Evreham Road’ stops on Bangors Road South or the stop opposite ‘Chequers Orchard’ on the eastern part of the High Street. The Saturday 582 will continue along the Slough Road, Iver Heath and will not serve Iver including Bangors Road South, High Street or Swallow Street on Saturday 31st August 2019.

Bus Stop Suspensions

A41, Aston Clinton Road, Aylesbury : Wednesday 17th July until Thursday 31st October 2019. Due to development and road layout works the two ‘Holiday Inn’ stops will be suspended for this period. The nearest served alternatives are the ‘Peugeot Garage’ or the ‘Bedgrove Lights’ stops.

Gerrards Cross Road, Stoke Poges : Friday 9th to Friday 30th August 2019. Due to Cadent Gas works both the ‘Pennylets Green’ stops will be suspended during this period. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Sefton Park’ stops instead.

A4 Bath Road, Taplow : Thursday 15th to Friday 30th August 2019. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works the ‘Dumb Bell PH’ stops will be will be suspended during this period. Please note both stops will be suspended between the 15th and 23rd August 2019, while only the stop for journeys from Maidenhead will be suspended between the 24th and 30th August 2019. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Ellington Road’ stops further back along Bath Road.

Moreton Road, Buckingham : Monday 19th to Tuesday 27th August 2019. Due to TfB works the ‘Highland Avenue’ stops will be suspended on these days. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Western Avenue’ stops instead.

West Wycombe Road, High Wycombe : Tuesday 20th to Tuesday 27th August 2019. Due to works by Thames Water the ‘Mill End Road’ stops will be suspended. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Desborough Park Road’ stops instead.

Rose Avenue, Hazlemere : Wednesday 21st to Friday 23rd August 2019. Due to BT Openreach works the ‘William Ramsay School’ stops will be suspended on these days. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Rose Avenue’ stops near the Penn Road junction instead.

Chartridge Lane, Chesham : Wednesday 21st to Friday 23rd August 2019. Due to Affinity Water works both ‘Buslins Lane’ stops will be suspended on these days. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Old Sax’ or the ‘Warren’ stops both located on Chartridge Lane instead.

Dean Street, Marlow : Thursday 22nd to Wednesday 28th August 2019. Due to BT Openreach works the old ‘Police Station’ stop will be suspended on these dates. Passengers are advised to use the stop on Chapel Road or further up Dean Street instead.

London Road, Wendover : Monday 26th to Friday 30th August 2019. Due to works by BT Openreach, the ‘Bowood Lane’ stop towards Aylesbury will be suspended during these days.

Cressex Road and Holmers Farm Way, High Wycombe : Tuesday 27th to Thursday 29th August 2019, 9.30am to 3.30pm. Due to Thames Water works the two pairs of stops at ‘Limmer Lane’ and ‘Holmer Court’ will be suspended at these times. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Westwood’ stops further down Holmers Farm Way instead.

Little Marlow Road, Marlow : Tuesday 27th August to Monday 2nd September 2019, 8.00am to 5.00pm. Due to works in the vicinity the ‘Foxes Piece’ stops will be suspended during these times. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Spittal Street’ stops on Chapel Street or ‘Bobmore Lane’ stops on Little Marlow Road instead.

Berkhamstead Road, Chesham : Tuesday 27th August to Monday 9th September 2019, 8.00am to 6.00pm. Due to works on behalf of BT Openreach the stops either side of the junction with Alma Road will be suspended at these times. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Jolly Sportsman’ stops on Broad Street instead.

White Lion Road, Amersham : Wednesday 28th to Friday 30th August 2019. Due to Affinity Water works the ‘Pineapple PH’ stop towards Amersham will be suspended on these days. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Chiltern Heights’ or ‘Village Hall’ stops instead.

Furlong Road, Bourne End : Wednesday 28th August to Tuesday 3rd September 2019. Due to works on behalf of BT Openreach the ‘Post Office’ stop will be suspended on these dates. Passengers are advised to use the ‘St Mark’s Church’ stops on Station Road instead.
