Man hit repeatedly with baseball bat during aggravated burglary in High Wycombe

A man was hit repeatedly with a baseball bat during an aggravated burglary in High Wycombe on Saturday 26th October 2019.

At around 3.00pm a man in his thirties was at his home in Gayhurst Road, Micklefield, High Wycombe when four men wearing dark hooded tops and balaclavas forced entry to the property.

The four men then assaulted the man in his thirties by hitting him repeatedly with a baseball bat. The man in his thirties sustained fractures to his ribs, vertebrae and a collapsed lung. He was taken to hospital where he remains receiving treatment.

Following the incident the four men then ran away in the direction of Welles Road.

The men who carried out the attack are described as four black men wearing dark hooded tops and balaclavas. Three of them were around 6ft tall while the fourth man was shorter.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Jonathan Harland, based at High Wycombe police station said: ‘I am appealing for anyone who witnessed this incident that has left a man with grievous bodily harm level injuries to please come forward.

I would also urge any motorists who were in the area around the time of the incident to check dash-cam footage in case may have captured something that could assist with the investigation.
