Police release CCTV of fail to stop road traffic collision in High Wycombe in which a man suffered serious leg injuries
CCTV footage of a road traffic collision in High Wycombe in which a man suffered serious leg injuries has been released by Thames Valley Police.
On Friday 27th December 2019, at around 10.35pm, a 47 year old man was walking on Oxford Road in High Wycombe near to the junction with Bridge Street and the Arriva bus depot.
The man attempted to cross the road at a pedestrian crossing however he noticed a light blue coloured vehicle being driven towards him and the man moved back to the kerbside to avoid a collision.
As the man proceeded to cross the road the vehicle was reversed and struck the 48 year old man causing him to sustain a broken leg and severe bruising to his shoulder.
The injured man was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford. He has since been discharged.
Investigating officer Detective Inspector Steve Fox, of Force CID, based at High Wycombe police station, said: ‘We have previously appealed for witnesses to come forward, and are now releasing this footage of the incident in question which has led to serious injuries to the man.
We are aware that members of the public came to the aid of the victim prior to police arrival, and I am again asking these people to come forward, as they may also have valuable information which can assist our investigation.
The vehicle involved is a distinctive light blue colour, and I believe someone will recognise this vehicle, which may have sustained slight damage as a result of this incident.
I am also appealing to anybody who may have dash-cam footage of the incident to please check this and make contact if you have anything that can help this investigation.
