Police charge man with robbery following incident at a Tesco store in Amersham

A man has been charged with robbery following an incident at a Tesco store in Amersham on Tuesday 21st January 2020.

The 21 year old man, of no fixed abode, was arrested on Wednesday 22nd January 2020 and was charged on Thursday 23rd January 2020 with:

One count of robbery.
Two counts of common assault of an emergency worker.
One count of possessing an offensive weapon in a public place.

The charges are in connection with an incident that took place on Tuesday 21st January 2020 at the Tesco Express in Hill Avenue, Amersham when a man threatened a member of staff and made demands for the till to be emptied.

The 21 year old man appeared at High Wycombe Magistrates Court on Thursday 23rd January 2020 and has been remanded in custody to appear at Aylesbury Crown Court on Monday 9th March 2020.
