Two banks in South Buckinghamshire to close following cuts announced by Lloyds Banking Group

Two banks in South Buckinghamshire are to close as a result of cuts announced by Lloyds Banking Group.

Under plans announced on Wednesday 29th January 2020 the following branches are to close :

  • Marlow : Halifax at 5 High St, Marlow SL7 1AU.
  • Gerrards Cross : Lloyds Bank at 33 Packhorse Rd, Gerrards Cross SL9 8PF.

The Halifax branch in Marlow will close on Monday 4th May 2020. The closing branch review, published by the Halifax, showed that at the Marlow branch counter transactions were down 31% compared to a year ago, cash point machine transactions are down 32% and 51% of personal customers have used other Halifax branches while 20% of personal customers using the Marlow branch have also used the Post Office.

When the Halifax branch in Marlow closes the nearest Halifax branches will be in High Wycombe and Maidenhead.

The Lloyds Bank in Gerrards Cross will close on Tuesday 12th May 2020. The closing branch review, published by Lloyds Bank, showed that at the Gerrards Cross branch counter transactions were down 17% compared to a year ago, cash point machine transactions are down 25% and 60% of personal customers have used other Lloyds branches while 25% of personal customers using the Gerrards Cross branch have also used the Post Office.

When Lloyds Bank in Gerrards Cross closes the nearest Lloyds branches will be in Beaconsfield and Uxbridge.
