Bus stop suspensions and service diversions for the week ahead – Monday 17th February 2020
Week commencing Monday 17th February 2020 the following bus stop suspensions and service diversions are expected to affect bus services in Buckinghamshire.
Bus Diversions
Church Street, Marsh Gibbon : Monday 3rd February 2020 to Friday 6th March 2020. Due to Thames Water works this road will be closed and bus route 18 will need to divert via Castle Street, Spiers Lane, Whales Lane, West Edge and Tompkins Lane. As such the stops on Church Street and Bicester Road will not be served. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Post Office’ stops on Station Road instead.
Spurlands End Road, Great Kingshill : Tuesday 11th to Friday 21st February 2020, 7.30am to 5.00pm. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works bus route 41 will need to divert on these days. From High Wycombe the bus route will serve stops in Widmer End as normal and then turn back onto Sawpit Hill via Brimmers Hill. The buses will then divert via Watchet Lane and Windsor Lane, before resuming normal route at Heath End Road in Great Kingshill (and vice versa towards High Wycombe). As such the two pairs of stops on Spurlands End Road will not be served. Passengers are advised to use the stops on Heath End Road instead.
Main Street, Maids Moreton : Monday 17th to Thursday 20th February 2020. Due to Anglian Water works this road will be closed on these days. Bus routes 18 and 151 will not be able to serve the stops on Main Street, Church Street and Avenue Road. Passengers are advised to use the stops on Duck Lane or Moreton Road instead.
Station Road, Quainton : Monday 17th to Friday 28th February 2020. Due to Thames Water works this road will be closed during this period. At the Station Road / Quainton Road Crossroads buses will then divert via the unnamed road entering Quainton at Lee Road and departing the same way. As such stops on Station Road will not be served. Passengers for the ‘Railway Centre’ & ‘Station Road’ stops are advised to wait on the junction of Quainton Road & Station Road and clearly hail for the bus to stop. Passengers for ‘Winwood Cottages’ & ‘Memorial Hall’ are advised to use the stop on The Green.
Robinson Road, High Wycombe : Thursday 20th to Thursday 27th February 2020. Due to Openreach works Robinson Road will be closed during this period and bus route 27 will need to divert. As such the stops on Rayners Avenue or Robinson Road will not be closed. The nearest served stops are on the London Road.
Bus Stop Suspensions
Fowler Road, Aylesbury : Monday 13th January 2020 to Friday 13th March 2020. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works road widening works as part of the Oxford Road corridor improvement scheme the ‘Fowler Road’ stop for journeys from town (nearest to the junction of the Oxford Road) will be suspended for this period. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Prebendal Farm Shops’ stop instead.
London Road, High Wycombe : Monday 27th January 2020 to Friday 6th March 2020. Due to the A40 London Road corridor improvement works the ‘Hatters Lane’ stop towards the town centre will be suspended during these dates. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Chestnut Avenue’ stop instead.
Clay Lane, Booker : Sunday 9th February 2020 to Monday 2nd March 2020. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works both ‘Clayhill’ stops will be suspended during these period. Temporary stops will be set up outside the works area and passengers are advised to wait there instead.
Whitepit Lane, Flackwell Heath : Tuesday 11th to Tuesday 18th February 2020. Due to works on behalf of Cadent Gas the stop near the junction of Straight Bit towards the Common will be suspended during this period. Passengers on the 37A bus are advised to use the stop on Straight Bit instead. Please note this affects the 2148 from Bourne End to The Common, Flackwell Heath on Monday to Saturdays and journeys on Sundays only.
Northern Woods, Flackwell Heath : Tuesday 11th to Tuesday 18th February 2020. Due to works on behalf of Cadent Gas both the ‘Northern Woods’ stops, near the junction with Straight Bit and White Pit Lane, will be suspended on these days. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Green Dragon PH’ stops further along Northern Woods instead.
Beaconsfield Road, Farnham Common : Wednesday 12th to Tuesday 18th February 2020. Due to Thames Water works the ‘Royal Oak PH’ stop towards Slough will be suspended on these days. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Templewood Lane’ stop further along Beaconsfield Road instead.
New Road, High Wycombe : Sunday 16th to Wednesday 19th February 2020, 9.30am to 3.30pm. Due to works by Thames Water the ‘Squirrel Lane’ stop for journeys away from the town centre will be suspended at these times. Passengers are advised to use either ‘Turnpike Lane’ stop further along New Road or the ‘Edmunds Close’ stop on Bookerhill Road instead.
Broad Street, Chesham : Monday 1th7 February 2020, 9.30am to 3.00pm. Due to works on behalf of Virgin Media both ‘Police Station’ stops will be suspended between these times. Passengers are advised to use the stops on The Broadway instead.
Green Street, High Wycombe : Monday 17th February 2020. Due to Thames Water works the ‘Green Street’ stop for journeys away from the town centre will be suspended. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Oakridge Road’ stop on Dashwood Avenue instead.
Oxford Road, Aylesbury : Monday 17th February 2020 to Sunday 1st March 2020. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works the stop outside Aylesbury College will be suspended during this period. Passengers are advised to use the temporary stop provided, away from the works, instead.
Leighton Road, Stoke Hammond : Tuesday 18th to Thursday 20th February 2020. Due to Anglian Water works both the stops near the Three Locks PH will be suspended on these days. Passengers are advised to use the temporary stops provided, away from the works, instead.
Gray’s Lane, High Wycombe : Tuesday 18th to Thursday 20th February 2020. Due to works on behalf of BT Openreach the ‘Taylor’s Turn’ stop will be suspended on these days. Passengers are advised to use the stops further back along Gray’s Lane just past the junction with Gosling Grove.
Hogfair Lane, Burnham : Tuesday 18th to Friday 21st February 2020. Due to Cadent Gas works the stops opposite the Grammar School and the stop opposite the junction with Lincoln Hatch Lane will be suspended on these days. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Fairfield Road’ stops on Britwell Road instead.
Watermeadow, Aylesbury : Thursday 20th February 2020, 9.30am to 12.30pm. Due to works by Cappagh both of the ‘Watermeadow’ stops will be suspended at these times. Passengers are advised to wait where safe, away from the works and hail for the bus to stop.
Chiltern Avenue, Amersham : Thursday 20th to Monday 24th February 2020. Due to Affinity Water works both the ‘Leisure Centre’ stops will be suspended on these days. Passengers are advised to use the stops on Woodside Road instead.
Wycombe Road, Handy Cross, High Wycombe : Saturday 22nd February 2020, 8.00am to 4.00pm. Due to BT Openreach works both the ‘Blacksmith Arms PH’ stops will be suspended at these times. Passengers are advised to use the temporary stops provided, away from the works, instead.
