Wycombe Wanderers 3-1 Tranmere Rovers
On Saturday 22nd February 2020 Tranmere Rovers were welcomed to Adams Park for a League One match with Wycombe Wanderers.
Wycombe had plenty of chances in the first half but it wasn’t until the first minute of injury time that the Blues managed to score their first goal. In the forty-sixth minute Anthony Stewart (Wycombe Wanderers) headed from very close range with the ball finding the top left corner of the Tranmere net. The goal came following a cross from a corner and was assisted by Joe Jacobson.
The Chairboys had further opportunities at the start of the second half however in the sixty-third minute Tranmere drew level following a shot from James Vaughan (Tranmere Rovers) which found the bottom right corner of the Wycombe goal.
Wycombe took the lead again in the seventy-first minute thanks to a cross from Fred Onyedinma which Adebayo Akinfenwa (Wycombe Wanderers) headed into the bottom right corner of the Tranmere net.
In the ninety-second minute of the match Wycombe scored a third after Joe Jacobson (Wycombe Wanderers) converted a penalty awarded when Scott Davies (Tranmere Rovers) fouled Alex Samuel (Wycombe Wanderers) in the penalty area.
Following today’s game Wycombe find themselves in third place in League One with fifty-nine points from thirty-three games.
