A patient at Wycombe Hospital who tested positive for COVID-19 has died.
A spokesperson from Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust said:
‘Sadly, we can confirm that a man who was being cared for at Wycombe Hospital has died. The patient was in his late 70s, was admitted with underlying health conditions and subsequently tested positive for COVID-19.
The family has been informed and our thoughts are with them at this difficult time. We will not be commenting further and ask that everybody respects the family’s privacy.’
Currently there are restrictions in place for visitors to Stoke Mandeville, Wycombe, Amersham and Buckingham hospitals.
Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust is asking that there should be no visitors to inpatients wards without prior permission from senior ward staff. Anyone wishing to visit is asked to call ahead before making a visit to the hospital to avoid not being allowed onto the wards.
