Outpatient appointments at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust hospitals to be non face-to-face
Face-to-face outpatient appointments at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust hospitals are to cease during the Coronavirus health emergency.
Routine NHS services will inevitably come under pressure as COVID-19 (Coronavirus) spreads, however there are well established protocols in the NHS to respond to such situations.
Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust has taken the decision to move all clinically appropriate outpatient appointments to a non-face-to-face setting. At this stage there are no plans to cancel any outpatient clinics unless needed on a case-by-case basis.
The measures being taken are to support ‘social distancing’ guidance and means patients can avoid unnecessary journeys at the current time, reducing their chance of infection.
Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust are currently in the process of informing all patients whose appointment will be changed from a hospital based appointment to a consultation over the phone.
