More than 20 firefighting personnel tackle out of control barbecue fire in Stoke Mandeville
A barbecue fire required the attention of more than 20 firefighting personnel during the morning of Tuesday 2nd June 2020.
At 11.57an firefighters were alerted to the incident in Walnut Close, Stoke Mandeville. Three fire appliances with attended crews from Aylesbury fire station as well as one from Amersham fire station. Three officers also attended bringing the number of firefighting personnel in attendance at the scene to more than 20 people in total.
The fire caused considerable damage after spreading from a barbecue to the garden, garage, shed, fencing and guttering and external fascia of a house.
A main jet, three hose reels, four sets of breathing apparatus, a thermal imaging camera and a toolkit during the operation to extinguish the fire. The firefighters also removed a number of gas cylinders to a safe distance.
