Bus stop suspensions and service diversions for the week ahead – Monday 8th June 2020

Week commencing Monday 8th June 2020 the following bus stop suspensions and service diversions are expected to affect bus services in Buckinghamshire.

Due to the COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic there are a number of changes to Bus Services in Buckinghamshire. Details of affected services and revised timetables can be found on the Buckinghamshire Council website.

Bus Diversions

Langley Park Road, Iver : Monday 1st to Friday 19th June 2020, 7.00pm to 6.00am. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works this road will be closed and buses will need to divert on these nights. Thames Valley Buses route 459 will divert via Mansion Lane, Hollow Hill Lane, Market Lane, Parlaunt Road and Langley High Street and will not serve stops between Mansion Lane and Langley between these times. First route 3 buses will divert via Iver High Street and Thorney Lane North and will not serve stops between Bangors Road South and Langley.

A41, Tring Road, Aylesbury : Monday 1st to Tuesday 9th June 2020 (except weekends), 7.00am to 7.00pm. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works this road will be closed between King Edward Avenue and Bedgrove on these days. Buses will divert as follows:

• Service 61 will divert via King Edward Avenue, Wendover Road and Bedgrove and as such will not serve stops between King Edward Avenue and Bedgrove.
• Services 164 and 500 will divert via Walton Street, Wendover Road and Bedgrove and as such will not serve stops on Exchange Street, the High Street or Tring Road.

King’s Lane, South Heath : Monday 8th to Thursday 11th June 2020, 9.30am to 3.30pm. Due to works on behalf of HS2 this road will be closed between these times. The Monday and Wednesday route 190 journeys will divert via Chesham Road and Ballinger Road and will not serve the ‘Wood Lane’ or ‘Potter Row’ stops on these days.

Aston Abbotts Road, Weedon : Monday 8th to Friday 12th June 2020. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works this road will be closed on these days. Wednesday and Friday buses 153 and 154 will divert on these days via Whitchurch Road, Bushmead Road and the A413 Buckingham Road, as such will not serve stops in Aston Abbotts or Weedon on these days.

Oxford Road, The Lee : Monday 8th to Friday 12th June 2020. Due to works in the vicinity this road will be closed on these days. Bus routes 177 and 190 will divert via Ballinger Road, Chartridge Road and Lee Clump Road and will not serve stops on Oxford Street.

Thame Road, Long Crendon : Monday 8th to Friday 12th June 2020. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works this road will be closed on these days. Buses 110, 111, 112 and 113 journeys which usually travel direct between Thame and Long Crendon will instead divert via Shabbington and will not serve the ‘Thame Road’, ‘The Square’ or the stops on Bicester Road in Long Crendon.

A404, Amersham Road, Penn : Monday 8th to Tuesday 16th June 2020, except weekends, 7.35pm to 6.00am each night. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works part of this road will be closed and route 1 / 1A buses will need to divert on these nights. From Amersham the buses will divert via the A355 Gore Hill and Amersham Road, Ledborough Lane and B474 resuming normal route at Hazlemere Crossroads (and vice versa). As such stops between Old Amersham and Hazlemere Crossroads, including Holmer Green will not be served on these nights.

A404, Whielden Lane, Amersham : Monday 8th to Saturday 20th June 2020, 9.00pm to 5.00am. Due to HS2 works this road will be closed on these nights. Between the 8 and 16 June 2020 route 1 / 1A buses will be diverting as above due to the Amersham Road closure. However from 16 to 20 June 2020, the last journey from Chesham to High Wycombe at 2135 will divert via the A355, Beaconsfield and enter High Wycombe via the London Road. As such buses will not serve Holmer Green, Hazlemere or the A404 Amersham Road.

Whaddon Road, Newton Longville : Monday 8th June 2020 to Monday 27th July 2020. Due to East-West Rail works this road will be closed during this period. All route 50 buses will enter Newton Longville via Westbrook Avenue and will turn back round at the Crooked Billet. Bus stops on Whaddon Road will not be served.

Bus Stop Suspensions

Addison Road, Steeple Claydon : Tuesday 18th February to Friday 26th June 2020. Due to development works the stops near the junction of Vicarage Road will be suspended during this period. Passengers are advised to use the temporary stops, provided away from the works, instead.

A413 Amersham Road, Chalfont St Giles : Tuesday 17th March 2020 to Wednesday 1st July 2020. Due to works on behalf of HS2 both ‘Cherry Acre’ and the ‘Green Meadows’ stop towards Gerrards Cross will be suspended during this period. Please use the ‘Misbourne Avenue’ or ‘King’s Road’ stops instead.

Bell Street, Princes Risborough : Tuesday 26th May 2020 to Monday 8th June 2020. Due to SGN works in the vicinity the two stops on Bell Street will be suspended during this period. Passengers are advised to wait at the temporary stops provided and hail clearly to the driver.

Oxford Road, Aylesbury : Monday 1st to Friday 12th June 2020. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works the stop outside the College and the stop opposite Churchill Avenue will be suspended on these days. For journeys out of Aylesbury passengers are advised to use the TA Centre stop further back along Oxford Road. For journeys into Aylesbury passengers are advised to use the stop opposite the College.

A418, Aylesbury Road, Rowsham : Monday 8th and Tuesday 9th June 2020, 9.30am to 3.30pm. Due to works on behalf of Openreach the stop for journeys towards Milton Keynes will be suspended during these times. Passengers are advised to wait at the temporary stops provided and hail clearly to the driver.
