Bus stop suspensions and service diversions for the week ahead – Monday 28th September 2020
Week commencing Monday 28th September 2020 the following bus stop suspensions and service diversions are expected to affect bus services in Buckinghamshire.
Bus Diversions
Whielden Street / Whielden Lane, Amersham : Monday 18th May to Monday 30th November 2020. Due to a road closure buses will need to divert via the A413 and Gore Hill and will not serve stops on The Broadway, Whielden Street or the Hospital stops on Whielden Lane. For passengers needing to travel to Amersham Hospital a shuttle bus will operate between Gore Hill and the Hospital. Please see the Amersham Hospital shuttle timetable for details.
Ivy Lane, Great Brickhill : Monday 6th July to Friday 30th October 2020. Due to urgent bridge repairs this road will be closed during this period. From Leighton Buzzard, bus route 162 will divert via Stoke Hammond, the A4146 and Galley Lane, entering Great Brickhill from the north, serving stops on Rotten Row and Pound Hill and then turning up Lower Road to resume the journey to Bletchley (and vice versa towards Leighton Buzzard). The ‘Three Locks’ stops will not be served during this time.
Buckingham Road, Bletchley : Monday 6th July to Monday 7th December. Due to East-West Rail works by the bridge this road will be closed during this period and Z&S Transport route 50 will divert. From Buckingham Road, the buses will travel via Sherwood Drive, Whalley Drive, Rickley Lane, Whaddon Way, Watling Street and Standing Way to rejoin the normal route at Saxon Street (and vice versa). As such this service will not serve Bletchley Bus Station, passengers for here are advised to alight at the ‘Railway Station’ stops on Sherwood Drive and follow the signs to the bus station.
Missenden Road / Church Street, Chesham : Monday 24th August to Friday 9th October 2020. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works on this junction the 177 Tuesday and Thursday bus will divert during this period. After serving Hyde Heath buses will turn back round at the junction with Frieth Hill and will not serve stops on Missenden Road or Church Street.
High Street, Aylesbury : Tuesday 22nd to Monday 28th September 2020, 7.00pm to 6.00am. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works this road will be closed between Exchange Street and Tring Road. Evening and early morning journeys on routes 61 and 500 will need to divert via Walton Street and Walton Road. As such they will not serve the stops on Exchange Street or on the High Street between these times.
Addison Road, Lynton Road and Lansdowne Road, Chesham : Monday 28th September 2020, 9.30am to 3.30pm. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works this road will be closed at these times. Buses 1, 1A and route 78 will divert via The Greenway and Vale Road. Stops on Addison Road, Lansdowne Road, Lynton Road, Lyndhurst Road and the ‘Windsor Road’ stop on Upper Belmont Road will not be served on these days. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Hope Church’ stops on Upper Belmont Road or the stops on Vale Road / Berkhamstead Road instead.
Elmhurst Road, Aylesbury : Monday 28th September 2020 to Monday 12th October 2020. Due to SGN Gas Main replacement works the section of road between the Buckingham Road and Cannock Road will be closed during this period. The two stops on the Elmhurst Road, between Dunsham Lane and Buckingham Road will not be served during this time and bus routes will be diverted as follows:
- Route 2 will divert via the Buckingham Road and will not serve Dunsham Lane or Elmhurst Road during this period. Please use route 6 for services between Dunsham Lane and the town centre.
- Schoolday only service 12 / 12A will run an amended route and timetable, combining the 12 / 12A am journeys and starting in Dunsham Lane. Please see the revised timetable for full details.
- Afternoon 6A journeys towards the town centre due at Dunsham Lane at 1706, 1725, 1745 and 1806 will not serve Dunsham Lane and will divert via Buckingham Road.
High Street, Princes Risborough : Friday 2nd to Tuesday 6th October 2020 (except weekends) 7.00pm to 6.00am. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works this road will be closed on these nights. Bus route 300 will serve the stops on New Road instead.
Bus Stop Suspensions
Aylesbury Road, Wendover : Tuesday 18th August to Sunday 25th October 2020. Due to works on behalf of UKPN the ‘Village Gate’ stop for journeys towards Aylesbury, will be suspended during this period. The nearest alternatives is the ‘Nursing home’ stop on Worlds End Lane or the ‘Castle Park Farm’ stop on Aylesbury Road.
Mill End Road, High Wycombe : Thursday 24th to Monday 28th September 2020. Due to Thames Water works the Dashwood Avenue stop will be suspended. Passengers are advised to use ‘The Hour Glass’ stop instead.
Crendon Street, High Wycombe : Thursday 24th to Monday 28th September 2020. Due to Thames Water works the stop towards the Railway Station will be suspended on these days. Passengers for route 8 / 8A are advised to alight at the Railway Station instead.
Chearsley Road, Long Crendon : Monday 28th to Wednesday 30th September 2020, 9.30am to 3.30pm. Due to Thames Water works the two ‘Church End’ stops will be suspended at these times. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Chearsley Road’ stops near Needlemakers instead.
Sheepcote Dell Road : Monday 28 to Wednesday 30th September 2020. Due to works on behalf of Affinity Water the two ‘Winters Way’ stops will be suspended on these days. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Bat & Ball PH’ stops instead.
Marlow Road, Stokenchurch : Wednesday 30th September 2020 to Friday 2nd October 2020, 9.00am to 5.00pm. Due to Thames Water works the two Marlow Road stops nearest the junction with the A40 will be suspended at these times. Passengers are advised to use either the ‘Bates Industrial Estate’ stops on the Wycombe Road or the ‘Marcourt Road’ stops further along Marlow Road instead.
West Wycombe Road, High Wycombe : Wednesday 30th September 2020 to Friday 2nd October 2020. Due to works by Morrison Utilities the two Mill End Road and the Mill End Road East stop will be suspended on these days. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Desborough Park Road’ stops instead.
Wendover Road, Stoke Mandeville : Wednesday 30th September 2020 to Friday 2nd October 2020, 9.30am to 3.30pm. Due to works in the vicinity the ‘Silver Birch Way’ stop for journeys towards Aylesbury, will be suspended at these times. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Hampden Hall’ stop instead.
