Bus stop suspensions and service diversions for the week ahead – Monday 26th October 2020

Week commencing Monday 26th October 2020 the following bus stop suspensions and service diversions are expected to affect bus services in Buckinghamshire.

Bus Diversions

Whielden Street / Whielden Lane, Amersham : Monday 18th May 2020 to Monday 30th November 2020. Due to a road closure buses will need to divert via the A413 and Gore Hill and will not serve stops on The Broadway, Whielden Street or the Hospital stops on Whielden Lane. For passengers needing to travel to Amersham Hospital a shuttle bus will operate between Gore Hill and the Hospital.

Ivy Lane, Great Brickhill : Monday 6th July 2020 to Friday 30th October 2020. Due to urgent bridge repairs this road will be closed during this period. From Leighton Buzzard, bus route 162 will divert via Stoke Hammond, the A4146 and Galley Lane, entering Great Brickhill from the north, serving stops on Rotten Row and Pound Hill and then turning up Lower Road to resume the journey to Bletchley (and vice versa towards Leighton Buzzard). The ‘Three Locks’ stops will not be served during this time.

Buckingham Road, Bletchley : Monday 6th July 2020 to Monday 7th December 2020. Due to East-West Rail works by the bridge this road will be closed during this period and Z&S Transport route 50 will divert. From Buckingham Road, the buses will travel via Sherwood Drive, Whalley Drive, Rickley Lane, Whaddon Way, Watling Street and Standing Way to rejoin the normal route at Saxon Street (and vice versa). As such this service will not serve Bletchley Bus Station, passengers for here are advised to alight at the ‘Railway Station’ stops on Sherwood Drive and follow the signs to the bus station.

Missenden Road / Church Street, Chesham : Monday 24th August 2020 to Wednesday 23rd December 2020. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works on this junction the 177 Tuesday and Thursday bus will divert during this period. After serving Hyde Heath buses will turn back round at the junction with Frieth Hill and will not serve stops on Missenden Road or Church Street.

Horton Road, Ivinghoe : Monday 5th October 2020 to Friday 27th November 2020. Due to works on the canal bridge this road will be closed during this period. After picking up at Ivinghoe the Green the school time 164 journeys will divert via the B488, upper Icknield Way, Vicarage Road, Cheddington Road and resuming normal route at High Street Cheddington. Please see the revised timetable for service 883. Please note routes will not be able to serve stops on Horton Road, Station Road, Ivinghoe or Cheddington Station.

Station Road, Marsh Gibbon : Friday 16th October 2020 to Tuesday 3th November 2020 (24 / 7). Due to East-West rail works near the Rail bridge this road will be closed on these days. Bus routes 16 and 18 will run as normal to Twyford then turn at ‘The Crown’ and travel into Marsh Gibbon via Chardon, as such the ‘Manor House’ stops on Bicester Road, Twyford and the ‘Poundon Turn’ stops will not be served on these days.

Vale Road, Chesham and Cholesbury Lane, Buckland : Monday 19th to Friday 23rd October 2020. Due to these two road closures for Thames Water works bus routes 149 and 194 will divert as follows:

• 149 will run between St Leonards and Chesham via Bellingdon in both directions and will not serve Buckland, Cholesbury and Hawridge.
• 194 will run via Bellingdon turning along Rays Hill to serve the Cholesbury Cricket Ground stops and resume route to Wiggington and Tring and will not serve Hawridge, Buckland Common and St Leonards.

Station Road, Quainton : Monday 19th October 2020 to July 2021. Due to works by HS2 this road will be closed between the A41 and the Crossroads junction with Quainton Road. Bus route 16 will travel into Quainton from Waddesdon via Quainton Road in both directions during this period.

Spinfield Lane, Marlow : Monday 19th to Saturday 31 October 2020. Due to utility works on this road bus routes 155 and 160 will not be able to serve Spinfield Lane, Terrington Hill or Barnards Hill during this period.

Chartridge Lane, Chesham : Monday 26th to Friday 30th October 2020. Due to Cadent Gas works part of this road between Buslins lane and Old Sax Lane will be closed during these days. Bus route 77 will run between Chesham and Berkeley Avenue only, serving the Chesham bound stops in Berkeley Avenue in each direction.
Bus routes 177 / 190 will turn at Cogells Lane / Combined school stops, returning to Chesham via Ballinger and will not serve stops on Chartridge Lane (between Cogells Road and Chesham town centre) or Park Road.

Daws Hill Lane, High Wycombe : Monday 26th to Friday 30th October 2020. Due to Thames Water works this road will be closed during this period. Bus routes 36, 36A and 36B will divert via the London Road, Station Road, Treadaway Hill and Swains Lane, resuming normal route at Straight Bit. As such these buses will not serve Marlow Hill, Daws Hill Lane or Heath End Road during these days.

Summerleys Road, Princes Risborough : Wednesday 28th to Saturday 31st October 2020. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works this road will be closed on these days. Bus route 320 will divert via Longwick Road, A4010 and Station Road and will not serve the stops on Summerleys Road during this period.

A422, Stratford Road, Thornborough : Wednesday 28th and Thursday 29th October 2020, 7pm to 6am. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire repairs in this area, bus routes X5 and X60 will divert between Buckingham and Milton Keynes. After serving Buckingham High Street the buses will divert via the A413, the A421 and the A5, resuming normal route in Milton Keynes. The X60 will not be able to serve the stops in Stony Stratford on these nights.

A418 Oxford Road, Aylesbury : Friday 30th October 2020, 7.15pm to 6.00am. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works on the Coldharbour Roundabout route 110 and 280 buses will need to divert on this night. The route 110 1925 from Thame journey will terminate in Cuddington. Night route 280 buses will divert between Aylesbury town centre and Stone Cross Roads via Bishopstone and Stoke Mandeville.

Bus Stop Suspensions

London Road, High Wycombe : Monday 19th to Wednesday 28th October 2020. Due to utility works the two ‘Hatter’s Lane’ stops will be suspended during this period. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Chestnut Avenue’ stops instead, these are located on the London Road, closer to the town centre.

Buckingham Road, Aylesbury : Monday 26th to Wednesday 28th October 2020. Due to Thames Water works the two ‘Britannia’ stops will not be in use on this days. For journeys to the town centre please use the stop on White Hill. For journeys away from town, please use the stop on New Street.

School Road, Tyler’s Green : Monday 26th to Friday 30th October 2020. Due to works on behalf of BT Openreach the two School Road stops will be suspended on these days. Passengers are advised to use ‘The Pond’ stops instead.

Straight Bit, Flackwell Heath : Wednesday 28th to Friday 30th October 2020. Due to Thames Water works the stops near to Norland Drive will be suspended on these days. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Greenlands’ stops instead.

Denham Avenue, Denham : Thursday 29th October 2020, 9.30am to 4.30pm. Due to Telecom works the stop opposite Village Road will not be used between these times.

New Road, High Wycombe : Friday 30th October 2020 to Tuesday 3rd November 2020. Due to Thames Water works the stop for journeys towards town, located between Bookerhill Road and Lane End Road will be suspended on these days. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Roundwood Road’ stop located on Bookerhill Road instead.
