Bus stop suspensions and service diversions for the week ahead – Monday 15th February 2021

Week commencing Monday 15th February 2021 the following bus stop suspensions and service diversions are expected to affect bus services in Buckinghamshire.

Bus Diversions

Tilehouse Lane, Denham : Due to the current lockdown Wyatts Covert Caravan Park has been closed. Buses routes 581 and 582 will not travel here until further notice.

Whielden Street / Whielden Lane, Amersham : Until further notice. Due to a road closure buses will need to divert via the A413 and Gore Hill and will not serve stops on The Broadway, Whielden Street or the Hospital stops on Whielden Lane. For passengers needing to travel to Amersham Hospital a shuttle bus will operate between Gore Hill and the Hospital.

Station Road, Quainton (between the Crossroads junction and the A41) : Until August 2021. Due to works by HS2 this section of road will be closed. Bus route 16 will travel to / from Waddesdon via Quainton Road in both directions during this period.

Station Road, Quainton, (between the Crossroads junction and Lower Street) : Until further notice. Due to safety concerns a weight restriction has been placed on the bridge north of the crossroads, route 16 buses will have to access Quainton via the unnamed road and Lee Road into Quainton. As such no stops on Station Road, Quainton will be served. The nearest stops will be on The Green in Quainton or along the A41 Aylesbury Road.

Moreton Road, Buckingham : Monday 4 January 2021 to Wednesday 31st March 2021. Due to Cadent Gas works the section between Summerhouse Hill and Western Avenue will be closed during this period. Bus routes 131, 132 and 151 will divert via Western Avenue and will be unable to serve the ‘Market Hill’ stops or the town bound ‘Western Avenue’ stop. Passengers can use the Bus Stand on the High Street or they will operate a Hail and Ride service along Western Avenue. Please note that from Monday 4th January 2021 these will operate to revised timetables and route 18 will no longer travel along Moreton Road to Maids Moreton.

Steeple Claydon Road, Padbury / Herds Hill, Steeple Claydon : Wednesday 6th January 2021 to Wednesday 17th February 2021. Due to East-West Rail works these roads will be closed during this period. From Bicester bus route 18 will run as normal to Steeple Claydon then turn back along West Street and divert via the road to Gawcott, Lenborough Road and resuming normal route on London Road at the ‘Lenborough Turn’ stop towards Buckingham (and vice versa towards Bicester). As such the following stops will not be served by route 18: ‘The Library’ stop on Queen Catherine Road in Steeple Claydon, the Main Street stops in Padbury or the Bicester bound ‘Lenborough Turn’ stop.

High Street, High Wycombe : Monday 11th January 2021 to Friday 26th February 2021, 6.00pm to 6.00am. Due to works by Transport for Buckinghamshire this road will be closed during this period and the stops will not be served. Passengers are advised to use the stops on Castle Street or the Bus Station instead.

Crest Road / John Hall Way, High Wycombe : Monday 25th January 2021 to Friday 3rd September 2021. Due to changes at the junction by Transport for Buckinghamshire Crest Road will be closed and works taking place on John Hall Way. As such the stop opp ‘Next’ and the ‘Empire Cinema’ stops will not be served during these months. Passengers are advised to use the ‘YMCA’ stop or the ‘Asda’ stop on Holmers Farm Way instead.

Desborough Park Road / Dashwood Avenue, High Wycombe : Tuesday 9th to Monday 22nd February 2021. Due to Sewer repairs Desborough Park Road will be closed. Bus route 33 will divert via Oakridge Road and Copyground Lane and will not serve the ‘Oakridge Road’ and ‘Half Moon PH’ stops on Dashwood Avenue. The nearest served stops are on Green Street.

Chinnor Road, Bledlow : Monday 15 February 2021, 9.30am to 3.30pm. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works, bus route 320 will divert after serving Chinnor via Bledlow Ridge and the A4010 and will not serve Bledlow or Longwick between these times.

Cambridge Street, Aylesbury : Monday 15th to Friday 19th February 2021. Part of this road will be closed on these days. Bus routes will divert via Vale Park Drive and Park Street and will not serve the stops outside the Royal Mail sorting office or outside Greggs.

Leighton Road, Edlesborough : Wednesday 17th to Wednesday 24th February 2021, 9.00am to 4.00pm. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire resurfacing works this road will be closed between the Eaton Bray turn to the county boundary. From Leighton Buzzard the 162 buses will run as normal to Billington then divert via Stanbridge Road and The Rye, resuming normal route on Eaton Bray High Street and in reverse towards Leighton Buzzard. As such the stops on Northall Road in Eaton Bray and the ‘Swan Inn’ and the ‘Knolls View’ stops on Leighton Road.

Cholesbury Lane, Cholesbury / Buckland Common / St Leonards : Thursday 18th February 2021, 9.30am to 3.30pm. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works part of this road will be closed. Bus route 149 will run from Chesham to the Coppice Farm Park stops as normal and will then turn back towards Bellingdon and up Rays Hill to rejoin the normal route on Hawridge Common. Stops on Gilberts Hill and Cholesbury Lane will not be served.

Westbourne Street / Desborough Road, High Wycombe : Friday 19th to Saturday 20th February 2021, 4.00pm to 10.00am. Due to works at this junction buses will need to divert via the West Wycombe Road and Desborough Avenue during these hours. The two ‘St John’s Church’ stops will not be served.

Bois Lane, Chesham : Monday 22nd February 2021 to Friday 5th March 2021. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works this road will be closed during this period. After serving Waterside, Pheasant Rise and Chessmount Rise bus routes 71 & 73 will divert via the A416 Amersham Road and North Road. Stops on Bois Moor Road or Bois Lane will not be served.

Bus Stop Closures

Thame Road, Long Crendon : Monday 25th January 2021 to Friday 19th February 2021. Due to works by UKPN the two stops on Thame Road will not be served during this period. Passengers are advised to use the stops on The Square instead.

London Road, Chalfont St Giles : Tuesday 9th to Monday 15th February 2021. Due to works on behalf of Opals the two stops nearest the junction to Pheasant Hill will not be served during these days. Passengers are advised to us the ‘Kings Road’ stops instead.

Bellingdon Road, Chesham : Wednesday 10th to Tuesday 16th February 2021. Due to urgent UKPN works the ‘Fire Station’ stop for journeys towards Pond Park will not be served during these days. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Valley View’ stop on Hivings Hill instead.

Springhill Road, Grendon Underwood : Monday 15th to Wednesday 17th February 2021. Due to Thames Water works the two ‘Prison Gates’ stops will not be served on these days. Passengers are advised to wait away from the works where safe and hail for the bus to stop.

Britwell Road, Burnham : Monday 15th to Friday 19th February 2021. Due to Thames Water the two ‘Fairfield Road’ stops will not be served on these days. Passengers are advised to use the nearby stops on Gore Road instead.

School Road, Tylers Green : Monday 15th to Friday 19th February 2021. Due to works on behalf of Openreach the two ‘School Road’ stops will not be served on these days. Passengers are advised to use the stops at The Pond instead.

West Wycombe, High Wycombe : Tuesday 16th to Friday 19th February 2021, 9.00pm to 5.00am. Due to works on behalf of Openreach the ‘Mill End East’ stop towards the town centre will not be served between these hours. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Mill End Road’ stop instead.

Furlong Road, Bourne End : Thursday 18th February 2021 to Wednesday 3rd March 2021. Due to works in the vicinity the stop near the Cores End Road junction will not be served during this period. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Post Office’ stop further along Furlong Road instead.

Bellingdon Road, Chesham : Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st February 2021. Due to Openreach works the ‘Fire Station’ stop for journeys towards Pond Park will not be served during these days. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Valley View’ stop on Hivings Hill instead.
