Bus stop suspensions and service diversions for the week ahead – Monday 8th March 2021

Week commencing Monday 8th March 2021 the following bus stop suspensions and service diversions are expected to affect bus services in Buckinghamshire.

Bus Diversions

Whielden Street / Whielden Lane, Amersham : Until further notice. Due to a road closure buses will need to divert via the A413 and Gore Hill and will not serve stops on The Broadway, Whielden Street or the Hospital stops on Whielden Lane. For passengers needing to travel to Amersham Hospital a shuttle bus will operate between Gore Hill and the Hospital.

Station Road, Quainton (between the Crossroads junction and the A41) : Until August 2021. Due to works by HS2 this section of road will be closed. Bus route 16 will travel to / from Waddesdon via Quainton Road in both directions during this period.

Station Road, Quainton, (between the Crossroads junction and Lower Street) : Until further notice. Due to safety concerns a weight restriction has been placed on the bridge north of the crossroads, route 16 buses will have to access Quainton via Fidlers Field and Lee Road into Quainton. As such no stops on Station Road, Quainton will be served. The nearest stops will be on The Green in Quainton or along the A41 Aylesbury Road.

Moreton Road, Buckingham : Monday 4th January to Wednesday 31st March 2021. Due to Cadent Gas works the section between Summerhouse Hill and Western Avenue will be closed during this period. Bus routes 131, 132 and 151 will divert via Western Avenue and will be unable to serve the ‘Market Hill’ stops or the town bound ‘Western Avenue’ stop. Passengers can use the Bus Stand on the High Street or they will operate a Hail & Ride service along Western Avenue. Please note that from Monday 4th January 2021 these will operate to revised timetables and route 18 will no longer travel along Moreton Road to Maids Moreton.

Crest Road / John Hall Way, High Wycombe : Monday 25th January to Friday 3rd September 2021. Due to changes at the junction by Transport for Buckinghamshire Crest Road will be closed and works taking place on John Hall Way. As such the stop opp ‘Next’ and the ‘Empire Cinema’ stops will not be served during these months. Passengers are advised to use the ‘YMCA’ stop or the ‘Asda’ stop on Holmers Farm Way instead.

Bletchley Road, Newton Longville : Monday 2nd February 2021 to Friday 2nd April 2021. Due to East-West Rail works on the bridge, this road will be closed during this period. Bus route 50 will need to divert via Whaddon Road, the A421 Standing Way and Buckingham Road, resuming normal route on Buckingham Road, Bletchley. Stops on Westbrook End, Bletchley Road and Newton Road will not be served. Due to this and other upcoming closures along the route, service 50 will operate to a revised timetable until further notice.

Rickmansworth Lane, Chalfont Common : Monday 22nd February 2021 to Saturday 3rd April 2021. Due to Cadent Gas works this road will be closed during this period. After serving Copthall Lane, Denham Lane and Chesham Lane, bus route 335 will divert via Misbourne Avenue. Stops on Rickmansworth Lane and Monument Lane will not be served. Please note that due to an emergency Affinity Water closure on Copthall Lane on Tuesday 23 to Thursday 25 February 2021, stops on Copthall Lane will not be served either.

Station Road, Marsh Gibbon / Poundon : Monday 22nd February 2021 to Wednesday 7th April 2021. Due to East-West Rail works this road will be closed. After serving ‘the Crown’ stops bus routes 16 and 18 will turn back and divert via Charndon, resuming normal route in Marsh Gibbon. The ‘Poundon Turn’ and ‘Manor House’ stops will not be served during this period.

Little Horwood Road, Winslow : Monday 1st March 2021 to Monday 14th June 2021. Due to East-West Rail works this road will be closed during this period. From Swanbourne buses will enter Winslow by serving Magpie Way, High Street, Horn Street, Vicarage Road and High Street before continuing to The Horwoods. Journeys from Little Horwood will operate via Great Horwood and Winslow and serve the ‘Magpie Estate’ stop on Magpie Way before continuing to Swanbourne. Due to this and other closures along the route, service 50 will operate to a revised timetable until further notice.

Highmore Cottages, Little Missenden : Monday 1st to Wednesday 31st March 2021. Due to Affinity Water works part of this road will be closed between the A413 and the Red Lion. Bus route 177 will divert via Taylor’s Lane and will not serve the ‘Red Lion PH’ or ‘The Crown PH’ stops. The nearest stops are on the eastern part of Highmore Cottages just past the infant school.

Gordon Road / Bowerdean Road, High Wycombe : Tuesday 2nd to Monday 8th March 2021. Due to urgent Thames Water repairs this road is currently closed. Bus route 27 will divert via the London Road and not serve stops on Gordon Road, Bowerdean Road or Totteridge Road.

Pearson Close, Aylesbury : Friday 5th to Thursday 11th March 2021, 9.30am to 3.30pm. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works this road will be closed between these times. The 280 buses will divert via the Oxford Road and the stop on Pearson road will not be served. The nearest alternative is located on the Oxford Road, opposite Churchill Avenue.

Jordans Lane, Jordans : Monday 8th to Friday 12th March 2021, 9.30am to 3pm. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works this road will be closed on these days. Passengers are advised that the 380 bus service will not run between Jordans and Beaconsfield on Tuesday 9th and Friday 12th March 2021.

Buckingham Road, Gawcott : Monday 8th to Friday 26th March 2021. Due to Anglian Water works this road will be closed during this period. Buses will divert via Radclive Road and will not serve the ‘Village Hall’ stops. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Post Office’ stops on Main Street, Gawcott, instead.

Bus Stop Closures

Desborough Avenue, High Wycombe : Tuesday 2nd to Monday 15th March 2021. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works the two ‘Wendover Arms PH’ stops will not be served during this period. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Plumer Road’ stops instead.

London Road, Chalfont St Giles : Wednesday 3rd to Tuesday 9th March 2021. Due to works by SSE the two stops nearest to the junction with Pheasant Hill will not be served during these days. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Kings Road’ stops instead.

Friarage Road, Aylesbury : Friday 12th March 2021, 8.00pm to 11.00pm. Due to works on the bus lane, the bus lane will be closed and the stop near the junction of Castle Street will not be served. Passengers are advised to alight at the bus station instead.
