Bus stop suspensions and service diversions for the week ahead – Monday 19th April 2021
Week commencing Monday 19th April 2021 the following bus stop suspensions and service diversions are expected to affect bus services in Buckinghamshire.
Bus Diversions
Station Road, Quainton (between the Crossroads junction and the A41) : Until August 2021. Due to works by HS2 this section of road will be closed. Bus route 16 will travel to / from Waddesdon via Quainton Road in both directions during this period.
Station Road, Quainton, (between the Crossroads junction and Lower Street) : Until further notice. Due to safety concerns a weight restriction has been placed on the bridge north of the crossroads, route 16 buses will have to access Quainton via Fidlers Field and Lee Road into Quainton (except between 19 and 30 April 2021, please see below). As such no stops on Station Road, Quainton will be served. The nearest stops will be on The Green in Quainton or along the A41 Aylesbury Road.
Crest Road / John Hall Way, High Wycombe : Monday 25th January to Friday 3rd September 2021. Due to changes at the junction by Transport for Buckinghamshire Crest Road will be closed and works taking place on John Hall Way. As such the stop opp ‘Next’ and the ‘Empire Cinema’ stops will not be served during these months. Passengers are advised to use the ‘YMCA’ stop or the ‘Asda’ stop on Holmers Farm Way instead.
Little Horwood Road, Winslow : Monday 1st March to Monday 14th June 2021. Due to East-West Rail works this road will be closed during this period. From Swanbourne buses will enter Winslow by serving Magpie Way, High Street, Horn Street, Vicarage Road and High Street before continuing to The Horwoods. Journeys from Little Horwood will operate via Great Horwood and Winslow and serve the ‘Magpie Estate’ stop on Magpie Way before continuing to Swanbourne. Due to this and other closures along the route, service 50 will operate to a revised timetable until further notice.
Ledborough Lane, Beaconsfield : Thursday 18th March to Saturday 5th June 2021. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works this road will be closed during this period. Carousel’s BB11 schoolday route will divert via Amersham Road and Maxwell Road and will not serve Wilton road or Station Road.
Cliveden Road, Taplow : Monday 12th to Friday 23rd April 2021. Due to Thames Water works this road will be closed. The Tuesday and Friday bus route 68 will serve the ‘Desborough Cottages’ and ‘Village Green’ stops in Taplow as normal then divert via Berry Hill, Bath Road and Lent Rise Road resuming normal route in Burnham. Stops on Taplow Common Road and Cliveden Road will not be served during this period.
A422 Buckingham Road, Westbury : Monday 12th to Friday 30th April 2021. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works this road will be closed between Main Street and Stowe Road. Bus route 131 / 132 will divert and will be unable to serve Water Stratford. A revised timetable will operate during this time.
Fidler’s Field, Quainton : Monday 19th to Friday 30th April 2021. Due to HS2 works this road will be closed. Bus route 16 will run to a revised route and timetable during this period. The route will be reordered to serve Quainton between Waddesdon and Aylesbury, travelling in and out of Quainton via Blackgrove Road, The Willows and The Strand.
Old Rectory Lane, Higher Denham : Saturday 24th April 2021. Due to Affinity Water works this road will be closed over this weekend. The Saturday route 581 buses will not be able to serve the ‘Community Centre’ stop on Lower Road in Higher Denham on this day.
Bus Stop Closures
Gore Road, Burnham : Wednesday 15 to Monday 19th April 2021. Due to SSE works the two ‘Gore Road’ stops located near the junction with Almond Road will not be served on these days. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Fairfield Road’ stops located on Britwell Road instead.
Beaconsfield Road, Farnham Common : Tuesday 20th to Thursday 22nd April 2021. Due to BT works the two ‘Kennedy Close’ stops will not be served on these days. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Forester’s Arms PH’ stops instead.
Chiltern Avenue, Amersham : Tuesday 20th to Friday 23rd April 2021. Due to Affinity Water works the two ‘Leisure Centre’ stops will not be served on these days. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Green Lane’ stops on Woodside Road instead.
