Wycombe Homeless Connection ‘Big Sleepout At Home’ 2021 to take place on Friday 19th November 2021

| November 6, 2021

The Wycombe Homeless Connection ‘Big Sleepout At Home’ 2021 is to take place on Friday 19th November 2021.

Wycombe Homeless Connection (WHC) needs more people than ever before to ‘sleep out’ on Friday 19th November 2021 in solidarity with people the charity helps.

Government Covid-19 funding that paid for emergency accommodation for rough sleepers has now ended locally, which means that the charity has launched its winter appeal.

WHC is working with Buckinghamshire Council and other partners to make sure as few people return to the streets as possible. WHC needs to make sure that extra-special emergency support and help is provided during the coldest, most dangerous months of the year and by sleeping out you are helping the charity to do that!

A big part of the WHC winter appeal is the return of the Big Sleepout 2021: At Home and Big Quiz, taking place this year on Friday 19th November 2021. Not only is it the charity’s biggest fund raising event of the year but just as importantly it raises awareness of their services, so people know where to access help.

To take part you can sleep in:

  • Your garden.
  • In an (empty) bathtub.
  • In a churchyard.
  • On a school playground.
  • Somewhere you wouldn’t normally sleep.

You can take part on your own, with family or with a group and people of all ages and abilities can take part.

The Big Quiz will be online on the night for those who are taking part in the Sleepout and those who aren’t. It will be streamed live online at 7.30pm on Friday 19th November 2021. Sleepouters can watch it then head to their shelter, or if you aren’t able to join in with the sleepout, you can still take part and help raise funds and awareness.

Registration to take part in the Big Sleepout 2021 is now open. Further details about the fund-raising event and to register to take part in the Big Sleepout 2021 can be found on the Wycombe Homeless Connection website.
