High Wycombe’s Tuneless Choir burst into song on the evening of Tuesday 4th January 2022.
Like all Tuneless Choirs, singers from different backgrounds and all ages came together to enjoy the release of endorphins as they sang popular songs in their own unique ways.
Rebecca Cobb, Choir leader and manager, was delighted that over 30 people attended the first session at St James’ Church Hall, Downley Tuesday 4th January 2022 when the group sang songs from various decades including tracks by Adele, U2, Coldplay, Oasis, Abba, and The Carpenters.
During the instrumental sections choir members chose to sway, join in with their own ‘ba dah dahs’ or played ‘air guitars’. The session ended with a belter of ‘Big Spender’ by Shirley Bassey which proved very popular with choir members! There was a great atmosphere on the evening and to celebrate choir members enjoyed a glass of fizz and Tuneless themed cupcakes.
The High Wycombe Tuneless choir, run by Rebecca, has been set up for people who want to sing but lack the ability, practice or confidence to do so. Tuneless aims to encourage those with a shared passion for music to come together purely for enjoyment.
Rebecca would like to thank everyone who attended the launch and said it was lovely to see choir members leaving with their spirits raised. It was a fantastic way to start to the new year 2022.
Rebecca looks forward to running the next session on Tuesday 18th January 2022 and she has planned another set of songs which span the decades.
Anyone interested in joining the High Wycombe Tuneless Choir is asked to contact Rebecca on 07527 616857 or by e-mail at [email protected].
