The return of a local lunch club that closed during the pandemic has been welcomed with a gift of chocolate cake.

Staff at Barchester Healthcare’s Shelburne Lodge care home in High Wycombe delivered delicious home baked Chocolate Cake and a beautiful fruit hamper to The Frogmoor Salvation Army Lunch Club to say welcome back.

The Frogmoor Salvation Army Lunch Club has been going for many years and like many community groups had to close during the pandemic. They are back and offer local people in the community a hot lunch and companionship every Friday at the Salvation Army Hall in Frogmoor, High Wycombe.

Marina Glen, General Manager, and Samantha Neal, Customer Relationship Manager at Shelburne Lodge delivered goody bags and freshly baked Brownies prepared by the chef and the team at Shelburne Lodge to show their appreciation of the local community.

Marina Glen said: ‘We are very proud of our community and always looking for ways to ensure we stay connected within our local community groups. Everyone likes a brownie and so we thought it was a great opportunity to show our appreciation to our neighbours and also say welcome back to the group!

Richard Thompson, Major at the Salvation Army in Frogmoor, High Wycombe, said: ‘We are so pleased our lunch club is back. Our volunteers do a wonderful job! The meals are always so delicious and the company is great. It was lovely surprise getting the Brownies from Shelburne Lodge, they smelt amazing and tasted absolutely delicious.
