Woman sexually assaulted behind a shop in Aylesbury town centre

An appeal for witnesses has been launched by Thames Valley Police following a sexual assault in Aylesbury.

On Tuesday 12th July 2022, around 5.15pm, a woman in her thirties was sexually assaulted behind Wilko’s in Britannia Street, Aylesbury.

The man who carried out the assault was confronted by members of the public and he became agitated and argumentative. Police believe a number of witnesses were present at the scene and we would like to appeal to those witnesses who may not have come forward at the scene.

The Investigating officer, based at Aylesbury police station, said: ‘I would like to appeal to anybody who may have been in this area during this time and witnessed anything, or have any footage, to please get in touch.

Police have arrested a 34 year old man from Aylesbury for sexual assault in connection with the incident, he has been released on police bail while investigations continue.
