High Wycombe is in for a ‘fairy tale’ treat on Thursday 17th November 2022 with a Cinderella, Prince Charming and the Snowman heading to the 2022 Christmas Light Switch On.

Taking place on Thursday 17th November 2022, the town will not only be welcoming the cast of The Swan’s ‘Cinderella’ Pantomime, but also hosting meet and greet sessions with The Snowman and Snowdog throughout the day at 3.00pm, 4.00pm and 5.00pm.

Free Parking will be available in all Council car parks too, for an extra dose of festive cheer.

The Christmas Light Switch On event kicks off from 3.00pm with live performances on the High Street stage including:

  • Glee Club Choir and the Wycombe Orpheus Choir.
  • A Food Truck Market.
  • Festive freebies.
  • Children’s rides and entertainment,.
  • Over 25 Christmas Gift Stalls.
  • An appearance from a certain Mr. Father Christmas, courtesy of Wycombe Santa.

The ‘Cinderella Parade’, led by a Pumpkin Carriage, will be starting its journey at 5.30pm, departing from close to The Swan Theatre and making its way down the High Street. Featuring over 100 ‘Cinderellas and Prince Charmings’ from Holmer Green First School, Marsh Infant School and West Wycombe School. The procession will be intercepted by Wycombe Sound, who will be broadcasting live from the event, for a rousing round of Christmas carols, before making their way to Frogmoor.

Meanwhile in Frogmoor, the Main Stage will be getting in the Christmas swing of things from 5.00pm, with performances from more than 8 local dance, music and drama groups including:

  • Jackie Palmer Stage School.
  • Stagecoach.
  • The Blend Choir.
  • Castle Street Dancers.
  • Swan Cheer Squad.

The Pumpkin Carriage will arrive in Frogmoor just in time for the ‘Switch On Ceremony’ at 6.45pm. The famous faces will head for the stage including The Mayor of High Wycombe, Cllr Arif Hussain, and the Chairman of Buckinghamshire Council, Dev Dhillon.

The town’s lights will officially be lit with great festive fanfare and Christmas cheer. There will be performances on the Frogmoor Stage until 7.30pm. However the fun will continue as there will still be plenty of food, festive fun and Christmas goodies to be enjoyed on the High Street until the event officially closes at 8.00pm.
