Arriva announces changes to the bus network in High Wycombe including routes 32 and 33
Bus operator Arriva has announced changes to the bus network in High Wycombe including to routes 32 and 33.
Arriva is making some important changes to its bus network in and around High Wycombe. Customers will benefit from more buses running more frequently, which will better keep buses running on time.
The network changes, which take place on Sunday 3rd September 2023, will include changes to the current 32 and 33 services as follows :
- Route 32/32A : Between High Wycombe and Booker, route 32/32A will be replaced by an enhanced route 2a and between High Wycombe and Micklefield by route 12.
- Route 33/33A : Between High Wycombe and Castlefield, route 33/33A will be replaced by an route 3 and between High Wycombe and Totteridge by route 13.
The changes to the current Route 33/33A will mean that passengers will no longer be able to travel from the Castlefield area of High Wycombe to the railway station without changing buses at the bus station.
Anyone travelling from Micklefield to Booker will also need to change buses at the bus station.
The changes will bring more frequent buses on many routes with up to double the current number of journeys on some services together with a modern fleet of ultra-low emission buses.
There will be better connections around the town, which will enable people to change at the bus station to more frequent buses.
Arriva has co-ordinated departure times so that customers onward journeys are simple, straightforward and with shorter waiting times.
The changes are listed on the Arriva website at High Wycombe bus changes Sept 23 | Arriva Bus UK.
Matt King, network manager for Arriva, said: ‘We’re introducing a substantially improved bus network for High Wycombe, as part of our ongoing commitment to be the most environmentally sustainable transport option of choice for everyone in our town.
We’ve analysed how and when customers use our buses in and around the town currently as well as looking at emerging and changing travel trends – so we’re bringing more buses, more often for most routes.
That’s fantastic news for everyone who has been wanting to get back on board and save money.
And for people who are eligible for concessionary bus passes – it’s a great time to make sure you have one and benefit from our new, improved network because you’ll be able to explore the Chilterns, free of charge for most of the day.
There are scenic connections beyond High Wycombe too, with picturesque Henley-on-Thames or retail therapy in Reading – and you can get to both on our 800/850 routes.’
To support Arriva’s growing network, Arriva is renewing its appeal for job applications for bus drivers. There are a variety of rewarding and flexible driver roles available at our local depots. Driver jobs and engineering jobs can be found on the Arriva website at arrivabusjobs.co.uk.
