Meeting to discuss proposed new ‘Junction 3A’ on M40 – Wednesday 20th August 2014

| August 19, 2014

Due to the level of public response in relation to the very ‘early days’ proposals for a new motorway junction on the M40 between Junctions 3  (Loudwater) and Junction 4 (Handy Cross), the so called ‘Junction 3A’, Wycombe District Council have arranged a special public meeting on the issue.

This meeting will be an opportunity for Wycombe District Council to answer the many questions there are about this outline proposal.

The meeting will take place on Wednesday 20th August 2014 at 7.00pm in the Gateway Lecture Theatre of Buckinghamshire New University. Anyone wishing to attend should register by email to [email protected] or by telephoning 01494 421102.

While the meeting is being held in the holiday season the Council took the view that it was better to hold the meeting sooner – given the level of public concern and debate that took place in July – rather than to wait until September.

The meeting is to share information and to allow questions to be answered however the Council is not going to be making any decisions on J3a in the coming months.

Further work will be necessary by the Council before it will be possible to assess if the idea has sufficient benefits for the town to outweigh any harm, and how any harm can be minimised. This will be part of the Local Plan process, which is programmed to take a number of years to complete. Future public meetings will be held as the project progresses.

Further information can be found on the Wycombe District Council website.
