Improvements to outpatient pharmacy service at Stoke Mandeville Hospital from Monday 3rd November 2014
The pharmacy team at Stoke Mandeville are implementing a number of changes, including a new location for the existing outpatient pharmacy.
The changes are part of an ongoing improvement programme aimed at improving patient safety and making the delivery of medicines to wards, theatres and clinics more efficient.
A large distribution robot is to be installed in the main pharmacy, the robot will modernise the pharmacies approach to distributing medicines to the wards.
From Monday 3rd November 2014 the outpatient pharmacy will extend the existing pharmacy service in the Mandeville Wing, resulting in a more focused outpatient service and better patient experience. It will remain there until Spring 2015 when a decision will be made around its permanent location. The pharmacy opening times will be 9.00am to 5.00pm from Monday to Friday.
The move only affects out-patient dispensing. All other medicines will continue to be supplied from the main pharmacy on the lower ground floor.
