Five people rescued following house fire in West Wycombe Road, High Wycombe

Fire broke out in a house in multiple occupancy in West Wycombe Road, High Wycombe during the early hours of Friday 20th February 2015.

At 2.13am three fire appliances with crews were despatched to the incident from High Wycombe fire station together with one from Beaconsfield fire station and an officer.

One jet, one hose reel, four sets of breathing apparatus and a Positive Pressure Ventilation fan were used during the operation to extinguish the fire.

Firefighters rescued four men and a woman from the house which was severely damaged by heat and smoke. One of the rescued men was taken to hospital suffering from the effects of breathing in smoke.

The British Red Cross Fire and Emergency Support Service based at Marlow Fire Station attended to help look after the people involved.

An investigation into the cause of the blaze will start at 9.00am.
