PennFest applies to increase capacity

PennFest, formerly Penn Festival, has applied to alter its entertainment licence so double the number of people can be allowed onto the Penn Street site to attend the event.

Currently 4,999 visitors can attend the festival each day however the proposed increase in capacity, if granted, would enable 9,999 people a day to visit. In a letter to to local residents the company running the festival said that it does not expect that number of people to actually attend.

If a new licence is approved the organisers say they will run park and ride shuttle services from Penn, Amersham, Beaconsfield and High Wycombe as well as having a fleet of 250 taxis on standby to take people to and from the site.

The year, 2015, the festival is due to be held on Friday 17th, Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th July.
