RobsArttt and Sainsburys High Wycombe colleagues celebrate their new partnership.
Sainsbury’s High Wycombe have announced that RobsArttt (www.robsarttt.co.uk) has been chosen to be their local charity of the year 2015.
The charity came top of a vote by the stores customers in store and online with a total of 725 votes. RobsArttt will receive a year’s worth of fund raising and awareness support from the store’s colleagues and customers.
A launch day will be taking place on Friday 31st July 2015 at the High Wycombe store when customers will get a chance to meet representatives from the charity and learn more about the work they do.
The RobsArttt charity has collected more than £185,000 since being set up in memory of former Holmer Green Senior School student Rob Holland, who passed away from a rare teenage tumour (Desmoplastic Small Round Cell Tumor or DSRCT) aged 15, in 2007.
Amanda Dunkerton, Rob’s Mum and founder of RobsArttt, said: ‘We’re absolutely thrilled to be chosen as the Sainsbury’s High Wycombe Local Charity of Year. We can’t wait to work together and raise the profile of our charity over the next year. Thank you to all the customers that voted for us, we really appreciate the support.
Robs’ vision was to raise awareness and funding into research surrounding DSCRT in the hope of giving sufferers a greater quality of life and ultimately finding an effective treatment of a disease which so tragically took my 15 year old son.‘
The Sainsbury’s Local Charity of the Year scheme is now in its seventh year and this year was the first time customers got the chance to vote for their favourite charity from a short list put together by their local store. Since 2009 the scheme has raised over £7 million to support local charities.
