| February 17, 2016

Thames Valley Police have releasing CCTV footage following an incident in which a car collided with a pedestrian in Copyground Lane, High Wycombe.

At around 6.50pm on Tuesday 9th February 2016 a 50 year old man was crossing Copyground Lane when he was involved in a collision with a black saloon car.

The man suffered knee injuries requiring hospital treatment. He has since been discharged.

Investigating officer, PC Tom Smith, of the Joint Operations Unit for Roads Policing based at Amersham, said: ‘The CCTV shows the driver clearly brake sharply and then speed away with no regard for the injured man they leave lying in the road.

I would urge the driver to come forward.

I would also like to speak to the young man who was also trying to cross the road behind the victim and who went to the man’s assistance after the collision. We would ask him to come forward as he is believed to be a witness to this incident who may hold key information which could help us to find the driver.

Thames Valley Police are appealing for anyone with information about the incident to please call the 24-hour Thames Valley Police enquiry centre on 101.

If you do not want to speak directly to the police you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. No personal details are taken, information is not traced or recorded and you will not go to court.
