| June 24, 2016

Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust has announced the appointment of new finance director, James Drury, who will join the Trust in September 2016.

James is currently director of finance for NHS England South (South Central) and has over 10 years of NHS experience, including at Monitor, the independent regulator of NHS foundation trusts, and Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust where he was finance director for five years. James also brings significant knowledge of the private sector having spent 15 years with auditors KPMG.

Chief executive Neil Dardis said: ‘We are delighted to welcome James to the organisation and look forward to working with him. His post, which includes responsibility for our IT and estates, is crucial to implementing our transformation strategy to achieve clinical and financial sustainability and, ultimately, become one of the safest healthcare systems in the country.

This is a great time to join Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust. We are on an exciting journey to transform how we provide care for our patients in the future. To achieve this we have three priorities – quality, people and money – which are at the heart of everything we do. These priorities, in combination with our organisational values and our unique position as an integrated Trust providing care in hospitals and out in the community, help us deliver the safe and compassionate care that our patients deserve, every time.

James Drury said: ‘I am looking forward to joining the team in September and to using my expertise and NHS experience to help achieve the Trust’s ambitious plans for the future. By working closely with our partners and understanding the healthcare system in the county I hope to support the Trust in providing great care to the people of Buckinghamshire and ensure that quality patient care goes hand in hand with future financial sustainability.
