Police launch murder investigation after woman’s body is found in Marlow

A murder investigation has been launched by Thames Valley Police following the discovery of woman’s body at a property in Ragmans Lane, Marlow.

At just after 6.30am on Wednesday 6th July 2016 police officers were called to a property in Ragmans Lane. When officers arrived they were confronted by a man who then assaulted a police officer.

The injured police officer was taken to Stoke Mandeville Hospital but has since been discharged.

Police found a woman was found at the scene and she was sadly pronounced dead. Her next of kin are yet to be informed and a date for a post mortem is yet to be confirmed.

Police have put in place a scenewatch at the property as well as at nearby woods. A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in police custody.

Senior investigating officer, Det Supt Chris Ward of the Major Crime Unit said: ‘We are in the process of investigating the incident and a murder investigation has been launched.

We have also arrested a man in connection with this incident, and he has been taken into police custody.

Deputy Commander for High Wycombe Local Policing Area, Ch Insp Rebecca Mears said: ‘I would like to reassure the public that this is an isolated incident.

Members of the public will see an increased police presence in the area and a number of roads have been closed while we conduct our enquiries.

I have this morning been to Stoke Mandeville Hospital where our injured officer was taken. He has since been discharged from hospital.
